Hi Guys,

If I have applied white L&P to the free edge and shaped the smile line, is there a product I can use on a brush just to sharpen them up?

Im only a newbie but I was thought to dip my brush back into the Monomer wipe off and use my brush to tidy the smile lines. It works for me.

yah i agree, iv just had my first go at smiles and thts what i did, you can really shape the white using the clean brush from the other side, i taught myself to do that using the tutorials on here and nailangel.co.uk
im sure the experienced geeks will give you other tips (and i look forward to reading them too)

You can wipe all excess monomer out of your brush and use your brush to tuck any stray bumps into place! Wiping out the excess monomer helps prevent overexposure and saturation of the nail plate :)

Correct .... you should never use a brush with neat monomer on the nail plate.

For one it is an overexposure habit that can lead to an eventual allergic reaction and for two, it is a big cause of pocket lifting that leads to 'greenies'.

It is just plain irresponsible teaching for new technicians to be taught that this is an OK procedure. It is not.

If you have to swipe in order to create a decent smile line then wipe the excess monomer out of the brush ... guide it into a point while doing so and then run the point along the smile line from the centre to the side in each direction. Best in my opinion to learn to make smile lines without swiping if you can.
