Me again,

I'm loving doing the lash extensions but am still having a real problem at the start when taping lashes down. I really want to use the gel pads but just can't seem to place them correctly. I get so stressed when I have a lovely client lying there patiently while I apply, remove, try again etc. By the time I am ready to start lashing I am in a right sweat! Gives such a bad impression at the start of the treatment.
Don't know what I'm doing wrong. When I apply them right up to the lower eyelid (to make sure I catch the smallest lashes) they seem to push the top lid up when the client closes their eyes. If I apply a bit lower down, it doesn't catch the smallest lashes.
When I try with micropore tape, I need loads of attempts to get this right too! There is obviously a knack that I just don't have!
Can anyone help.... Please!

Hi ya,

I always get my client to look up & slowly place the pad jst over the bottom lashes.

Don't put too close or over their actual eye as the will cause discomfort & will bunch up when they close their eye.

I always do the right eye first & then use the blower when finished to dry the eye before removing that pad.

Then I do the left eye as i have found if you place the pads on both eyes at the same time they move when you go to do the other eye.

Hope this makes sense. Oh & I use lint free pads.lol

Me again,
As you know I know nothing but have been reading loads of threads on here and have been practicing like mad myself .....
If you tape the lower lashes with a medical tape.... de tac it a little first .
Use 2 bits of tape ,Angle the tape inside corner down then outside of eye to meet in the middle so like a v then 1 accross the middle if you think you need it.
I find it covers all lashes, stays put and doesn't hurt to peel off, oh and doesn't sit too high on my eye so its perfectly comfortable :Grope:

ive been doing lashes now for 3 years, i have used many different products and glue etc.i find whats best is put a little undereye cream on and then with a piece of micropore cut out half moon just like an eyelash tint 100% perfect everytime :) peel off tape slowly!

I was thinking of doing this with the little books of eye pads you use for tinting, put a little eye cream on and then place this on top.:)

As a lash client I hate the gel pads and that was the most uncomfortable part of the whole thing!

I use 3 small pieces of micropore tape. Its those outter corner critters I used to have trouble sticking down. I use the gel pads over the top of the tape. I find with 3 bits of tape you can position them just right.

I always attach lashes to alternate eye. That way one is drying on one eye while you are attaching to the other eye and if for some reason the client had to leave mid way through the treatment then at least they would have some lashes in each eye.
