Hi

I'm starting up and totally testing myself with my first booked appointment. She's 8 months pregnant and wanting a bikini wax

What tips and advice do you have?

When i was pregnant with my first and getting bikini waxed she had the couch raised a bit but i cant remember what she done with positioning.

Thanks
Carron

Unless you are experienced at waxing i wouldn't attempt it. Especially if its her first time.

Actually it shouldn't be a problem at all! Get her to sit reclining as far as she is comfortable and get her to drape one leg at a time over the side of the couch, whilst wshe holds bump you stretch the skin. Just get to help as much as she can and always ensure her comfort.

hi

i wouldn't say i've got a lot of experienciing in waxing. i done it at college then i've been practicing on friends in the build up to me opening.

wasn't expecting that type of booking for my first appointment.

she's been waxed loads and this is her forth pregnancy so is used to getting waxed whilst pregnant

This is good advice. If she is concerned with lying on her back, pop something under one side of her so she is not lying flat, as that is not recommended in pregnancy. But hopefully it will be nice and quick and she'll be fine.

It will be good experience for you. Clients do come in all shapes and sizes, and the time will come when a 9 months pregant lady asks you for a hollywood

So you may as well get in as much practice as possible

There really isn't any difference. Just make sure she moves around if she's uncomfortable. Don't rush like a mad woman but be quick. xxx

I wax and I am 7 1/2 months pregnant. I just got my bikini waxed last week and just a note to point out - I bruised for 5 days and I think it is just becasue the changes in hormones and skin ect. don't worry if your client does bruise as this can be normal for some people and if your prepaired for it then it will not be a big issue for the client. Just ask how her skin normally reacts to the waxing and tell her that she might be more sensative. (slight bruising is normal for me but not instant and 5 days worth) oh and my brows bruised to which is not normal at all for me but pregnancy can change a few things!!

as said have client a little reclined. If she is a regular waxer herself then she will know that she needs to help pull ect.

Good luck and have fun.

I realise this is an old thread, but just to state my recent experience.

I waxed a lady who was at her due date, although it was only a brow wax her skin reacted against the wax. Her eyes swelt and were quite aggrevated for some time.

Take this into consideration and inform the client of post waxing reactions. However, she came back to me a couple of months after her baby was born and this time her eyes were absolutely fine afterwards.

As long as the client is informed of any adverse reactions that may occur and she is happy to go ahead with the treatment i would proceed with care

:D
