 hello geeks
i have started to practice extensions for my salon as i am turning down so much work and in this climate i can't afford to !!
Anyway i am trained in calgel but i am having a problem with the tips lifting, i am preping making sure its all clean, no bubbles in glue and they are lifting right on the tip :irked: ( the gel is perfect )
is this cos the tips are too long or could i be doing something else wrong ???
thank goodness i'm just practicing on friends at the mo xx

any advice i will be eternally gratefull xx:hug:

are you using white tips and then clear gel...?

 nope normal tips i have used both colour and clear gel and the tips are lifting at the corners ??:irked: i'm very confued xx any guidence would be appreciated

are you blending the tips or at least removing the shine....?

If I understand correctly you are saying the "tips" are coming off the natural nail. Not the gel coming off the tip. Is that correct? If so what type of adhesive are you using? How much are you using? Are you making sure the corners are adhered properly when placing the tip?

Ahhhhh just thought of something. How are you applying a bonder to the nail? If you are using a bonding agent for the gel and using that over the entire natural nail and then applying the tips over that, it could cause your tips to come loose. Apply the tip first then apply the bonder only in the area where the natural nail shows. I found that out the hard way.......on my own nails.........lol!!

Are you sure that you have selected the correct size and fit of tip for the client? If they are curling back up at the edges it could be that the tip is too small or too flat for the nail it is being applied to.

i think the glue was too thick i have done another set with a different glue and they have been fine thankyou too all geeks for your advice xxx:hug:
