Hi fellow geeks, I am fairly new to Nobility gel and I love it, but I am having real problems when extending the natural nails with tips. I am using CND Velocity tips in natural, I prep nail as normal and then tailor and pre-blend the tip. Once applied I blend to thin it so it appears as part of the natural nail. No problems so far as I use the same technique for CND l & p. At this point I fear I am doing something wrong, I prime the nail with the pink primer, I have to confess that with CND Retention its primerless, so maybe I should not go over the tip with primer, but it does tend to have a blotting paper effect when using it and get drawn over the whole of the nail. I then apply gel in the same way as for a natural overlay. I am finding that the tips are breaking off really quickly, even though I building strength at the apex.

Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, I have never had any problems using l & p or using the gel as nno. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

You should never prime a tip.

Primer is for the natural nail only and will only cause cracking of the tips and weakening of the area where you have blended.

Try the CND Performance well-less tips in the natural colour. No blending required ... and keep your primer on the natural nail only.

Thanks Geeg, thats what I thought, but never used primer before so no problem, will try Performance tips, sure I have some of those in my box of tricks!!

the nobility primer is a dehydrator more than a traditional primer, it evaporates almost instantly.
it should be applied to the natural nail only and not on the tip, but i work in the same way as you do without any diiculty.
be a little more sparing with the primebond.
but i would say that i the tips are breaking of, i'm 99% sure that you need to build the apex more.
as the gel goes on in thin layers, its sometimes dificult to judge the depth of the product, so turn the nail to the side proile view and check rom that angle.

Thanks for your advice, I think I am overcoming the problem now with everyones help. Have used tips on a couple of people and so far so good. I love using the gel and am determined to overcome these problems, I particularly like how thin and natural it is on nno, so you are right that I need to build the apex a little more on tips and this is what I have tried.

Thanks

I have also tryed what you said and its made the world of difference i just love this gel :green:
