I'm attempting this colour on a client that is virgin hair, about a base 6.. Should I use mix tones or will it be to bright ? Any thoughts ?

No need to prelighten, just apply in foils with 9% or 6%.

Most definitely Magma - /34 and /43 and /44 - you could section a triangle with the flat edge near the fringe leaving out some fringe and alternate however thick you wish. I tend to feather at the root rather than go straight to the root so the grow out is softer
