Oh dear...its good though that you've recognised your problem ..so from here on its going to improve.
How long have you been spray tanning, are you using a HVLP gun,How far from the skins surface are you spraying,is your gun really set right down and lastly are you moving to slowly across the working area.
Sorry for all the questions.

I think in this case its possibly simply trust in the solution...it will produce a tan...that comes later(initial colour guide aside)

Trust in it...dont try and spray the individual completely brown during the session.

Get hold of a friend(non paying customer...hold the gun 6-8 inches from the skin, turn that gun ALL the way down ...so it just clicks open, increase the speed of movement across the working area.

Also take the gun to the shower and pull the trigger against the tiles on the wall...with the other hand turn that dial open and closed in an exaggerated fashion and just see for yourself how much solution comes out and how much effect what you are doing does to the output volume...this will all help to give you confidence.

usage, confidence, distance, speed of movement and trust in the solution will get you there... keep playing with that gun

HTH

Hi
I'm still fairly new to tanning, but I'm hoping im getting it sussed. Like Collin said play with your gun. Before I sprayed anyone I taped a large piece of card to my tiles over my bath and just sprayed, adjusting the settings as I went.
Now when i have a client I have my gun on the tightest setting so nothing comes out and on a piece of couch roll just ease the setting round so it comes out in a fine mist. This works for me and I am using 35 - 50 ml per person.
hth too x

Hi,
I totally agree with trusting your solution. I tried a new 1 the other night on my daughter's legs (she's only 13 so don't want her addicted to tan!)
I turned gun right down and did 1 coat all over. You could see the tan as the rest of her was natural, but she wanted to look darker. I explained about developing time etc. and she accepted it.
I put the whole 250ml bottle in (sample size) and hardly used any. my partner then did my legs to compare colour-he always turns up gun in spite of my protests and uses too much as he used to spray cars LOL!
I was patchy in the morning and feet too brown!
However my daughter looked great- really natural even colour with minimum solution used!
It was suntana cherry by the way.
good luck

does it matter what gun you have i have the hv500 pro gun Equipment | Spray Tanning Solutions (option 3) an turned it right down an i use a hell of a lot of solution !?!? x

The pro gun is without doubt one of the better guns on the market today and one that has a fine mist output resulting in an even tan without the use of excess solution.

I suspect the higher usage you are using is more a technique issue rather than a gun issue.
How much solution are you actually using.

If your gun is turned down fully and you are using excessive solution try moving closer to the skin (6"-8" away) and increase your speed of movement across the skins surface.

Try taking a couch roll hung on a door....spray one stripe downwards at your usual speed...then do another a tad faster and then another a tad faster than the last one....you will see that you still get a stripe even when increasing the speed of movement.

Once you've done this for a few times try it on a friend or hubby....

Good luck

Hi Collin

I am looking for a new spray tan machine but I am wondering if I can use Maximist Pro as I am mobile? Would it be ok or should I be looking for minimist? I am looking for the best spray tan machine for mobile? Would glady appriecate your opinion.

Tolly xx

Hi Tolly,
either of the two machines you mention are ideal for either mobile or salon use.
The maximist HV5008 probably has the edge in that it is far cheaper than the minimist and has the option to upgrade the gun at any time in the future.

Good luck with your business venture
