Hi I upset a few people the other week, by saying I was training myself...I heard what you had to say and took it on board.
As I wasnt going to be doing any work on anyone but myself I didnt think it would matter..BUT..I admit I have caught the bug.
I love doing my nails, and they do look good had no mishaps yet, and a few very nice comments from people on them.
Got me thinking maybe I could do something more, but am I to old to start all this up now Im 52 lol..Not that I let age stop me doing things usually.
Just thought I would ask the question...thanks

If you do a search on being too old to start training you'll come across my thread, I am 36 and have just started and asked the same thing a little while back and got come wonderful coments and support.

You are never too old hun -go for it x

Hi, I Am 52 And Just Finishing City And Guilds In Manicure And Pedicure, Also Doing Gel With Essential Nails After Completing Acrylic And Maintenace Course, Have Just Received Airbrush Course ( No Stopping Me ). So Go For It , You Are Never To Old

I started My training at 50 if you want to train go for it your never to old to learn:)

I also began my training last summer at 50 and I've just applied to a local college for a two year course. If it comes to fruition, I shall be 53 when I finish it and they said they've trained ladies in their 60s. I was very hesitant at even broaching the subject, but they were full of encouragement and told me to apply on the spot. :)

So you see - go for it x

Thank you all for the support its much appreciated, I guess I shall start looking for training.
Thats the next hurdle lol..who and what, I use brisa gel at the moment and I do like it, but I would like to try a soak off gel, and also L & P
Good luck to everyone with there training.

Too Old? No way! If you're young enough to still work and make a living, it stands to reason that you need to train...........and continue to train in the latests techniques. Life long learning. Good luck. xxx

Very nicely put x

NEVER too old to train in anything. If u have a passion for it , go for it nothing should stand in ur way . :D

Go for it!!!! your definately NOT too old! you should take a look at my thread. ' How old were you when you started in the nail/beauty industry?' It's very interesting & suprising!

I don't think your too old at all, as soon as you become incapable mentally or physically then it's time to stop.

When you are older you have so much more to offer, life experience, maturity etc.

There's so much in life to learn about - do whatever takes your fancy, keeps the brain ticking over.

On another tangent I know people who ride in their 60's, 70's and 80's now that is something.

Please never say your too old. I completed my first nail course as I turned 50, and as I approach 52 I am doing my ITEC Beauty Specialist. Having done one nail course I (like many others) found that it was not enough, so have since done others incuding a Creative Conversion. I then did a waxing course and eye treatments course, and again decided it wasnt enough so hence the ITEC. Who knows if it will stop there. I would like to do massage next, but probably wont do a level 3, as i think my husbands getting fed up of me spending on courses and not working much, so I think I should concentrate on earing for a while.

Age is just a number.....
There are some youngsters about, who act and feel a darn sight older than the more mature ladies (myself included) me.... I act more of a teen than my teen does lol got really good at skateboarding, started a Beauty course (nearly finished it) play guitar (trying too) kickboxing etc etc....

Doing new things that give you a buzz and the added knowledge is a great way to stay young at heart.

So in answer to your question..... NO you are not too old!
x

Well all I can say is a big THANK YOU ALL for your input and encouragement, I am going to 'go for it'.
It will give me something to aim for as well, after being out of the work force for a while. (you can only have so many holidays) lol
I will keep you all informed, good luck in all you do and thank you all again..x

Ooh, err, just wanted to add that I took up training when I retired 2 years ago at the age of 60! Hope I'm not the oldest on here! Still, I like to think I'm very young at heart! lol!
