Hi girls,
I have completed two sets of Trendy Nail Wraps today on my mother as I bought them a while ago and although I am going to be completing my Minx training soon I thought I may aswell use them up and see how they go.
Well They seemed ok but they didnt stretch when heat was applied, are they ment too??
also they didnt seem to stick brilliantly.
It says to apply heat for 2-5 seconds thats it.
also when I applied a think layer of glue over the wrap after appliance it became abit messy so I had to tidy up a fair bit with steriliser and acetone.
Are Minx like this? I am abit confused as many people have raved about Trendy wraps so it would be interesting to see what you guys thought xx

I don't know where you have gone wrong really. If you have heated them then they should stretch, you may have to reheat them if you take too long to place them They won't stick properly unless they are heated so this could be two problems because of the lack of heat. I don't bother with the glue on the edges and haven't had any problems at all. I have had mine on since the day after the NEC Beauty Show on my toes and they are showing no signs of budging.

I use a small travel hairdryer and heat them first, place them and sort of wave the dryer over them occasionally as I stretch them. If you are using a lamp then I would position it to keep the wraps warm while you are using them.

Maybe you would be better suited to Minx if you are finding the Trendy Wraps too difficult for you. :D

Thanks for your reply, I did heat them with the dryer because I havent yet got my Minx kit although I didnt reheat them on the nail, really struggled stretching, they just wouldnt budge.
I applied glue because thats what it said on the tin :D.
Ah well I had a go, hopefully I will be ok doing Minx, abit worried now  xx

You should keep reheating them while you are stretching them. It is the heat that activates the glue on them and the ability to stretch! A little bit of practice and you will be fine!! :D

Ok hun thanks very much, appreciate your help xxx:D

trendy are 3 times thicker than minx , they just remind me of stickers realy! i do use them on toes, but fingers hmmmm not nice , in my opinion that is ! minx are stretchy. feet are fab... im finding that unless the natural nail is in good condition...then its hard! i also find the free edge shrinks back and ive no clue here i am going wrong, have asked this on minx lovers .. i follow every step soooo... let me know how you go xx i also use a product called blix they have a few different designs for when minx are out of stock !! xx

I have only tried the Professional cut Trendy Wraps on fingers and they are fine but not to cover the whole nail.

Do you mean that the Minx are shrinking back from the free edge? I think I read on here that you need to pull the minx down over the free edge and file it at an angle so that in effect you are capping the free edge with the minx. I hope this helps you! :D

I think the glue is supposed to go on the natural nail free edge and not on top of the wrap itself.

I keep the lamp on until I am entirely happy with the placement of the Minx or wrap and use a hoof stick to help make sure they stick down. Hope this is of some help.

If your free edges shrinks back with minx, it's becasue you have stretched it and it's going back to it's origional position, I was taught they are not supposed to be streched!!!!

Correct, Sue, and I have to say, :( I wish people would give the correct advice if they are gong to give it instead of confusing the issue for new users of Minx by giving the wrong information or something they think they have heard or seen back in the mists of time!

Perhaps the poster would like me to send the Minx training video to help them?? I would be glad to do so for anyone as long as people pm me with their NAME and email addy .. IF YOU DON'T INCLUDE YOUR NAME I can't send you the training video (sorry). PEOPLE WHO ONLY SEND ME THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS and do not include their NAME WILL NOT GET THE VIDEO. this is something that Minx require.

When you watch the video you will see that you do not S-T-R-E-T-C-H the Minx at all. You just keep it taught while applying it.
You do not stick Minx down over the free edge either ... simply pull it to the free edge and bend it over to file it off (WHEN THE MINX HAS COOLED).
You do not use adhesive around the edges or under the edges of Minx.

Well thank you for your many replies ladies, I am now booked on a Minx course very soon and will be using Minx only. As I said in the original post I was just practising on my mother and would never complete something un trained on a client. Thanks again for responses.
