Trade Tests

Hi geeks

I am doing my level 3 beauty therapy at the moment. I have an interview at a new salon this week for part time work the woman said come a long for a chat and a trade test. The thing is I have done no treatments since college and feeling really nervous about it what do you salon owners generally give as trade test also any tips or advice you can give me.

Hiya,try not to worry too much.You will be asked to do usually 3 or 4 treatments.Normally waxing a nail paint and perhaps a little massage or an eyelash tint.I have been asked to do all of those in the past.Its only to check that you are up to scratch.

If you feel you're not up to spec then I would get practicing in your run up to the interview.It's important that you are confident/competent as if you're going to be working in a salon then you will need to work un supervised on clients.

I normally ask for a bit of waxing, an eyelash tint, a bit of massage, one hand painted dark red, the other french. Best of luck, oh and make sure you are perfectly groomed and well presented x

I remember my first one...I was shaking like a leaf. Afterwards I wondered what for as it wasn't half as bad as I thought.
I did a leg wax, facial massage, red polish, french polish and a light.
They know your going to be nervous. Just keep smiling and carry on.

The trade test went well all I had to do was a leg wax eyelash tint and a paint 3 fingers in dark polish the salon is not open but she asked me would I be available to come in for product training so fingers crossed:lol:

I think I would agree to the others statements, but I'd really prefer for you to have professional consultation experience alone can't give you the best advice, it takes credible knowledge and they come from professionals

I agree, sounds like she is thinking about your futrue in the salon already!!!
