I've been practicing sculpts lately and am having a hard time getting the forms to stick to the plastic hand. The hand is also difficult to use since the fingers do no bend and are super close together.

However, I was thinking about purchasing a "trainer hand". The ones that clip to a desk or table and the fingers actually bend. Can I only get them through a school? Are they expensive?

I suppose I could always fill a glove with cornmeal and work that way but I think the trainer hand would be more structured. I also thought about using a wooden dowel (as thats what we did in school) but I could only do 4 nails per dowel.

Any other suggestions?

I hope everyone had a good Easter!

Hi hun, don't know what/who you have in the states but brand new you can buy them from essential nails, they have a banner add running on this site. But yes they are quiet pricey.
The best place to pick one up at bargin price is e-bay and then buy the finger nails from essential nails. They do the mixed pack of these, which mimic the different types of nails you will come across and in the air brush section they do a normal pack, all the same size to practice art on, but they are very good for practicing sculpting with.
We had a lovely easter, hope you did to xx

Hi Geeks.

I am a real newbie here so looking into everything.

On EBay I notice you can get movable plastic hand for Acrylic and Nail Art for about £6.00 end then there is the practice hand from Essential Nails which is quite a bit more expensive, so what is the big difference in both of them.

This is the cheap one

nail practice hand items - Get great deals on Health Beauty, Nail Art items on eBay UK!

I first want to use it to practice filing and french manicure. I then plan to do the CND Foundation course and practice using the GEL.

Thanks
