I´m about to take a course in brazilian waxing and now I wounder how soon after your course you started do preform it on paying costumers? Did you praktise on your friends first or did you do it for a reduced price in the beginning?

Hi - I'd say it depends entirely on you. If you are very confident in your personality and the skills you've learned then you should accept full paying customers right away.

Of course, it may help boost your confidence if you do practice on people you know first. Also - why not speak to a friendly local salon owner who might take you in to do some mentoring / work experience with you?

Best of luck!
Jason.

Jason gives good advice. I think it depends on how well you take to this . you might want to get straight out there and wax the world, or you might need to get some practise in first.

for me it was practise first! I practised on lots of friends and then when i felt confident, off i went!

Yep, I was up and running the day after I passed the course. I needed to get going so that I didn't put it off and worry about doing it. I look back now and wonder how anyone ever came back as it took me an hour to do my first one! (I take about 30 mins now!)

Thanks I`ll guess I´d to wait and see how I feel after the course :) I`m used to waxing so maby I´ll dare to try it on paying costumers right away :)

If it helps - we all had to do it at one stage! I was blooming terrified - I don't mind admitting!

If you're thinking about it now - you'll be fine on the day!

That would be a good thing to be mentored by someone who knows but there is noone in my area who preform this kind of service :) that´s the main reson for me to do the training :)
But I´ve asked around and found 3 close friends who´s willing to donate their bodys to training so I´ll take the course and book them in one per day after my training then I´ll have 4 days in a row with brazilians! Then I go on by taking on real clients. I´m afraid that if I don´t start with real clients soon after my course that I´ll be more afraid for everyday thats goes by.

Start waxing straight away. Use it or lose it. xxx

I know a lot depends on personality, but if your training is good you should leave that training on a high ready to take on the World.

I try to train 1-2-1 if I can, that way my student can have two or three clients whilst I am with him/her so that with each wax their confidence grows and they are ready to go out there and tackle their paying clients.

However, as Kim has said, you have to get right back in the saddle straight away - use your new found skills quickly and soar!

My girls all went in training and then went straight into doing treatments, we advertised it at half price and informed clients that they were experienced in waxing in general but needed experience with the Brazilian waxing. We did that for a month and then charged full price and the clients were happy with that.
