Hi peeps,

I am currently on half term which is why im havent asked my tutor but you guys night know. When can i expect to be let loose on a client for a set of L&P?

I have done plenty of sets on friends etc after passing a two day acrylic course (i know, i know!!) and im very pleased with my application.
At college I use the nail trainer to practise my sculpting at the mo but im desperate to get my hands on a real person at college so i can more experiance "problems" that may occur like lifting, varying nail bed shapes, rectifiying spoon, hooked nails, building up nail beds on biters etc.

How long did you spend on a nail trainer?
From a trainers point of view how do you determine when a student is ready?

I can't answer for the college but if you have been doing a few sets where you are pleased with the results... then in my mind you are ready.

I know my students start on day one working on real live people and use the nail trainer at home to sharpen up and to hone their techniques.

My classes are deliberately kept very small so that I am watching everything extremely carefully so that no damage can occur.

thanks.

I am quite away ahead of my class who are still finishing mani's and pedi's and im gagging to get on!

Well I would say keep doing what you're doing, and then you will still be ahead when they introduce live models.

Make sure you are not causing any nail plate damage ... that is the main thing.
