I bought some at the NEC as CND weren't there. I put them on my toes that night, again without gluing the free edge and they are still there with no problems at all. Put some of the french cut ones on as tips on a client this week and overlaid with acrylic, really pretty! :D

i had a chance to try some of the rebel nails ones that were mentioned earlier in the thread. had them on my toes for 6 weeks, only removed them because i had such a noticeable regrowth area.
i think the quality is very good but found the design selection a little limited.

I can only speak about my own country here,
Here our clients are really really impressed and influenced by celebrities wearing this and that.
Lady Gaga (i didnt know who she was till she started to wear Minx- lol) and Rihanna,Fergie,Beyonce etc all wear Minx, and the Bad Boys girl who won Xfactor? wears it in all her videos/stuff,and loads more celebs are photographed daily sporting Minx.
I do not believe for one second that they could pay people like Lady Gaga to wear something she didnt like.
My point is- look at all the PR/Press Minx has-that the distributor in that country has generated to create a demand too-thats what the clients want!
If I go in somewhere lets say, to buy my Touche Eclat(concealer ) and the shop says we have something just as good, you may not have heard of it ,(but its the same price to you as a customer) would I want it? I dont think so.!
If the trendy nails are cheaper ,then the service should also be cheaper to the client.
And if there is little or no difference in the price to you why would you bother to con a client who wanted Minx ?If that is what she thought she was getting.

Now if you are just selling a nail veneer, without the celebrity endorsement-thats fine.
Does that make any sense?

I agree completely Mrs O. Why not get the REAL thing? And for the same price, one immediately notices the difference in the quality of both the MINX product and the Minx designs (which is better and classier) it's a complete no brainer to me. One looks like its made for the the teenage market and MINX looks pure class.

Has anyone actually tested theses product to see which one lasts longest?
I have access to both products so the only fair way to "test" both products is to apply 1 minx to my thumb on one hand and 1 minx to my 1st finger on my other hand then the opposite with Trendy Nail Wraps.
Then I will take daily photos to show how the product is lasting.
I cannot start this road test till the 20th when I get back off my hoildays (there is no chance I am going away with odd nails!) .

Also I may not be as "classy" as some users but I find both products have hit and miss designs, but I have learnt that the best (and most profitable) designs are the ones that the customer chooses(no matter which one they want).

There are also many other things that aggravate me about the previous post but rather than be petty I will let the products speak for themselves.
I will be back on the 20th with photos of Day 1

I have not tried out either product yet and my immediate choice would be Minx, although i wouldn't use anything on clients without testing it on myself thoroughly first, but my main concern is this "gluing the tips" thing....... y would you need to do that..... do you need to do that???? and if you do then surely then you have your answer to the minx/Trendy debate? (plus a genius idea of the previous geeks comparison?) I am all for trying stuff out and finding what is best and i think a lot of comments made are actually superfluous really...

I have had the Trendy Wraps on my toes since the show at the NEC without any glue on the free edge and they have not budged one little bit! The tip for the glue is if you are wearing closed in shoes that my wrinkle the ends of the big toes, as mentioned in some minx threads on here before.

I have been wearing closed in shoes but they are not tight at all so cannot comment if these would have wrinkled. Way past tight shoes now, comfort over fashion I'm afraid! :D

I have used both although only on toes. The Minx in my opinion is far superior in feel and look. The trendy wraps have a ridge around the edge which can look a little unsightly imo and are much much thicker. The only thing I would say is that the trendy wraps have a few designs I like that Minx don't do anything similar to like the glittery ones.

I belive you are only supposed to glue the free edge on fingers not toes as they don't last as long on fingers and this is a way to extend their life.

trendy are thicker and have a ridge running around,i say they are trendy not minx and choice is the clients xx i use them for toes fingers look awfull . minx are far far nicer. .. its just the postage that kills me i try to keep costs down ordering the designs when wanted.... but £5.50 for somthing that would go in 1st class stamp AHHH WELL things may change lol heres hoping anyway :o:o

I have seen this mentioned before about the 'ridge' on the Trendy Wraps but there is no ridge on the ones I have and I have checked all the ones I bought, maybe they have changed this? :D

I read some where (on this site i think!) that they are replacing the ones that have a ridge in them and its only on certain designs. Although i haven't come across one with a ridge in it. I've only tried 7 designs though and there is plenty more to get through!!!

I dont really see there is a minx OR trendy wrap debate, why not use both? If you like some designs from one and some from the other, then get what you like from each!

Precisely! :D:D:D

Sounds like it will be a fairly rough test for them then!! Let us know how they do!! xxxxx

well!! thet trendy are still on . they have even been walked through a river clad in heavy riding boots and wet socks !! ... i do prefer minx for fingers tho. but find the fuschia and black ets last longer than the shiny foil ones /. any clues:D

I too saw the advert in Scratch this month and thought WOW.....infact I still think WOW......I am a fully trained nail technician specialisings in Bio Sculpture Gel, Pronails & Gelish. Please can someone tell me more about this product, like how easy it is to apply, how you apply it and remove it and what is the rrp on fingers and toes.......Thanks Anna :D

I've tried the Trendy Nail Wraps and found they look very thick compared to Minx.I also found clients have never heard of them but have heard of Minx although Minx is more expensive the name sells it for you. I love the book with the photos of celebs wearing theirs that works a treat x:D

Sorry Guys I use both. I love, love, love Minx and will always love and use Minx. However I also use Trendy Wraps and love these too. I use trendy wraps on fingers/toes with a Clear Acrylic overlay, I use them on natural nails and for extensions - they last for weeks!! On extensions - I use a thin clear tip on a prep'd nail, heat the TW with a hairdryer ( sorry for those who don't like the HD method!! lol), place them on the extension and rough it slightly with a sanding block, then place a thin coat of clear acrylic on top. File and top coat with glaze n go. No ridge, no thick nails.

Ok Minx doesn't need a top coat, but TW will last weeks longer on nails without chipping off when getting in and out of swimming pools etc and will go from flip flops to boots to FF again without rubbing it off.

I am not bais I will continue to use both systems as this is what my client demands. I think the world is big enough for both without any threats to each other.

Michelle......what do you charge for this on fingers & toes.....Thanks Anna

Hi Anna, I charge £20 for just full trendy wraps with Acrylic overlays. £35 if I'm using Clear tips to extend nails. x

Thanks Michelle and on toes? ;)
