Hi - I'm new to Bio and having trouble getting a dense and even colour. I'm using clear for base, 2 x colour, S-gel and then a top coat for extra shine. I've been trying to lessen the brush angle down to almost horizontal to help. I'm really keen to learn what has worked for others.

A lot of coloured gels have a pigmentation problems. Sometimes you need to be putting on 3 coats instead of the two to achieve the desired colour.

Holding the brush horizontally will help to off load more gel onto the nail therefore creating more depth but I personally found that I can achieve a better result using 3 thin coats rather than 2 thick ones.

Have you had a look at Shellac from CND...?? Its a new hybrid paint. The colour depth is fantastic. Each colour has its own formula in order to achieve the perfect pigment. It goes on smoothly on the nails in 2 coats and is shiney like a mirror.

Thanks for your advice Anna. No I haven't had a look at Shellac, but will do. I've invested quite a bit in Bio Sculpture so need to stick with that for the time being at least. I will try 3 coats - I'm not the quickest although the extra 10 mins curing might be offset because I am not trying to get the densest coverage each time.

I did wonder if I wasn't stirring the gel right or something like that aswell?!?

I was going to suggest stirring the gel better too to make sure to really scrape any pigment off the bottom of the pot and mix it in well.
