Hi Geeks, i need advice on how to tone down a tinting too dark on a brows.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've been advised to use shampoo or washing up liquid on them when I wanted my brows quite dark for the weekend but lightened up a bit for work on Monday! But if doing that, be very careful not to get either in the eyes! Also bear in mind that this is advice I was given as a client.

I did a client brows yesterday and she called today that its too dark. Although she said its not my fault as the colour of her hair is too fair. As a result, the brow looks too dark because of the colour of her hair. How can i tone the colour of her brows down?

They will tone down very quickly. I have had this, before I became a beauty therapist I used to get my brows tinted and they were often shockingly dark, but within 24-48 hours they would have toned down a lot.

She could try powdering over them. Also if she wears a bit more eye make up than usual, esp. mascara, it will make the look more balanced.

I guess one thing that might help in general is that brow tint usually fades a lot quicker than lash tint (both in my experience as a client who has had lash and brow tinting done, and in the experience of the therapist who does my tinting), so at least your client's brows should hopefully lighten up fairly quickly anyway just through normal fading.

And another thing to bear in mind is that immediately after a brow tint, some of the colour you will see will be from tint that has been absorbed by the top layer of skin immediately below the brow hairs. This will tend to wash off quite readily (especially if using cleanser or eye make-up remover), leaving just the colour on the brow hairs themselves. So maybe doing this would help if she hasn't tried this thoroughly already?

Thank you Guys for your all the replies. I've spoken to my client and and hinted her on the advices. She is now happy!!!

I have found it fades very quickly too. within a few days. once my ex who is a cheeky cheeky horrible person asked me to tint his brows- which were already dark brown, i saw an opportunity for a quick revenge and put black on they went the blackest black i have ever seen in my life. My belly hurt so much from laughing especially as he wouldnt allow me to tidy them up afterwards so looked like 2 very fat juicy slugs above his eyes. to make it worse i had spray tanned him orange too!!!! dha overload!!!! oh yeh it was the funniest best day ever! shame it wasnt permanent! :)
