Known for its cut-price goods and groceries, the worlds largest retailer Walmart is now fast becoming the place for women seeking competitively priced beauty products too.
According to the 2010 Pink Report Women & Walmart: Seeing Through the Eyes of the Beauty and Personal Care Consumer, 71% of women shop for beauty and personal care items at Walmart every week. Its not all about budget brands either: 67% of women strongly agree that Walmart offers premium brands for less. The report confirms the power of the one-stop-shop shopping experience, where women can find all their lifestyle and fashion needs under one roof.
"Women & Walmart was so important to us because when 200 million people do something each week, it's critical that we understand what and why," said Alisa Maria Beyer, founder and creative director of The Benchmarking Company, which publishes the report. "Whether your brand is at Walmart or not, what is happening there and how consumers are spending their time and dollars inside the store is vital to the entire beauty and personal care industry.
