Hi Everyone!

I'm in a bit of a pickle! I was at a beauty show recently where my main aim was to find a great wax, with as little after pain and redness etc... as possible. a lady there was demonstrating Depileve Intimate Film wax and it was unbelivable the difference in that and strip wax. no redness, pain went almost straight away and skin felt great afterwards, so i bought 2 big tins, the pre and post gels etc..
However, I cant seem to get the same results in my salon. it just seems to break when removing from skin, or if doesn't break it becomes stringy and difficult to remove, making it more painful and time consuming.:irked: I'm so disappointed. I reckon it must be something i'm doing wrong, the lady there said it should be applied 1 degree hotter than regular warm wax, which i think i'm doing.

I'd be so grateful if there's anyone who can help me, PLEASE! dont want to give up on it yet!

Thanks in Advance !

Ash:)

If it's stringy, it's too cool. If it breaks, it's too thin. try it on different temps on your heater and apply to your arm in long strips and see how they apply and remove at each temp. Good luck. You'll get there in the end. xxx

I've never used this wax but i would suggest that if it is breaking then you have left it on too long and if its stringy when removing then it's being removed too soon. Also if you have had the wax too hot, the quality will deteriorate and make the wax brittle.
I use Berins Blue wax and never had a problem with it. This wax stays flexible rather than going brittle.
Which wax pot do you have and what temperature do you have it on?

hi for all intimate waxing i use perron rigot euroblonde, which i find brilliant, i notice your from ireland same as myself, chleo enterprises are the distributors here you should ask them for a sample and give the wax a try ,

whats the name of the wax your using, is there a supplier you can ring and go through your procedure with?

Thanks girls! I use the Hive 1000cc Wax pot, i'm constantly changing temp as it seems to get too hot or vice versa. i've looked on the internet to see any irish suppliers i could call and see could they suggest anything. is there such thing as a instrument to check the temperature of the wax? she said its to stay at 37 degrees but how can i keep checking that?!

I'll be bringing out a digital heater soon for exactly that reason.

I've been happily using the Hive 1000cc for years but I've found of late that the temp isn't stable. And they've started to fall to pieces. Only yesterday, I had the handle snap off one and the collar of another split it two.

Do you have it on 2.5? xxx

Hi Hun,
Try going to a shop that sells jam making thermometers, I know it sounds daft, but I have used one for years when making toffee apples, mine is metal and would be fine stood in a wax pot, I paid around £12 for mine. It may just help.
Best of luck.
Lotsa luv x   x

No, its usually between 3 - 5. depending on how much is left in the pot. is that too high? I keep my wax in the pot it comes in and just stick it in the metal holder. should i remove it from the pot altogether?

P.S. Thanks for your help!

Ooh yes....sounds very hot if it's a Hive 1000cc. Have you tried the wax on yourself? If you're keeping your wax in it's original pot, then you can have your heater hotter, due to the gap between the wall and the can. However, that sounds very hot. Remove it from the pot and put it into the bucket. xxx
