I.m having a problem with my UV Nails, once i apply the gel and cure it under the light the hardened gel sometimes doesn't wrap around to the edges. I know that the gel does shrink as it gets cured but i dont properly understand how to get this issue ressolved ....... Any feedback would be great xx

im sorry to say hun but have you done any training?
im presumimg not as your using rio products and you havent said what type of geek are.
im sorry but this is a professional site and we do not give out information etc... to any joe public,
i dont mean to be harsh but us geeks have spent alot of money an hard work training so we are not going to give any advice to some one who hasnt done any.
on the positive side your nail art looks good so why dont you get some proper training as you obviously enjoy doing nails? xx

Well everyone has to start somewhere and i am doing my best with the budget that i have!

All i was asking for was a little help in the right direction.....advice doesn't cost anything and neither do manners!

Tracey Louise you should be ashamed of yourself for you rudeness and lack of manners and professionalism. Cgritt was simply asking a question! Who are you to judge is she has professional training or not?! This is a forum to ask questions or advice and if you have nothing positive to contribute, then keep your hands off your keyboard and mind your own business. Cgritt has every right to post a question.

People like you make those who are trying to succeed look bad.

Cgritt - good luck to you!! Your nails are spectacular!! Try googling for help or try other nail boards. There are lots out there. I hope TL hangs her head in shame for her snotty assed answer. Maybe she should look for a board for those who are PERFECT! Because not all of are. Most are still learning. Maybe I could have her autograph...I have not met anyone who is perfect. She must be the first!

Rolls eyes in disgust :irked:

i am on a buget to, i have 5 children and a disabled husband, and I have managed to do my training. I have done my VTCT in manicure and pedicure and I am currently doing Gels and Acrylics, so if you really want to do nails you need to train.

flipping ek tracy louise, that told you didnt it !, people must be a bit tense tonight!:)

Tbh I seen this thread and thought, Oh no here we go again!!!

bearsmom, you may think my answer is "snotty assed", but........

before you perform any treatment on the paying public, you have to be trained. I have trained am still continuing my training so that my clients get the best possible professional service from me, as they have every right to expect. Without training and proof of it then you cannot get insurance and that is vital in our line of work.

This is a professional forum and Rio is NOT a professional product, anybody and their aunt can buy it! CGritt can find lots of threads on here about professional training with great quality products.

Tracey Louise is a valued member of this site, who has no need to hang her head in shame and whom I thought gave some very good advice and I hope that CGritt follows it.

I have to agree, I managed to do the training and I am on a budget, i also have 5 children, three of which are under 5yrs. My husband is disabled as well, so if I can do the training anyone can. Just contact your local college they can help, not only with your training but you could get funding for child care too.

You weren't treated badly and Tracey offered you help and advice!

Oh please... get a grip for goodness sakes.
Have you found this site due to a thread on another nail forum per chance?

This is a salon professionals forum, look at the top left of every page and you'll see it.
Tracey offered advice and if you would care to read her reply again you will see that she said "on the positive side your nail art looks good so why dont you get some proper training as you obviously enjoy doing nails?"

This site is the busiest on the net for PROFESSIONAL help and advice as well as consumer queries from clients looking for advice and has a fantastic reputation as being an extremely helpful site.

I hope TL hangs her head in shame for her snotty assed answer. Maybe she should look for a board for those who are PERFECT! Because not all of are. Most are still learning. Maybe I could have her autograph...I have not met anyone who is perfect. She must be the first!

Your attitude is the kind that riles people up. Tracey has no reason to hang her head in shame and her answer was definitely not snotty assed!

Let's get some facts here before I close the thread to any more replies...

Rio is NOT a professional product.
We (salon professionals) will NOT offer advice on using non pro products to untrained members of the public, it simply isn't ethical.

If anyone has a problem with the thread being closed feel free to drop me a private message, it's closed because we don't want to have a row breakout due some of the replies that were blatantly uncalled for!
