Hi peeps, i need the advice of all u experienced techs out there. I've been using a salon system UV gel toapcoat over nail polishes and nail extensions, but i've noticed that it keeps cracking either later on in the day or within a couple of days. I've used it on clients and its been the same on eveyone. What could it be? Please help???

I like using it as it gives a high gloss 'wet look' finish and its supposed to make the polish last longer! i just don't get why its cracking???

Any ideas??? Do u think its because its basic brand?? or can any1 suggest a bette1. Oh forgot to mention i've also been using the same brand of polishes and l&p so any ideas/ suggestions just let me no.

Thank You. x

Hiya .. does it just happen over enamel...?...does it still crack when applied over plain enhancements

yeh chick, it happens over enamel and plain extensions. At first i thought it could be because i might of applied it too thickly, but its the same when i do a thin coat.???? god only knows....

could it be your lamp?
im only ask as ive just replaced my uv bulbs but after i had done my nails and ive noticed a few hairline cracks on my glaze n go topcoat which hasnt happened before so im presuming its because my bulbs werent that great when i did them.xx

I know the nsi's gel top coat 'glaze n go' isn't meant for applying over the top of polishes, only enhancements as I've tried this and had the problem you are explaining. I enquired with them and they said that it's not meant for over varnish and that 'thermoshield' is the product for this.

I am wondering if this is the same with the gel top coat you are using?

I was using that stuff and it happened to me too all the time so i just threw it away and wrote them a really angry letter :p
