I HAVE AIR CON IN THE ROOM I WORK ,I KEEP MY GELS IN A DRAWER AWAY FROM SUNLIGHT. BUT WHEN I AM NOT WORKING I HAVE A A SMALL WINDOW OPEN. HERE IN CYPRUS IS HOT LIKE 35/ 40C.IS HOT WATHER A REASON THAT GELS MAY NOT LAST IN SUMMER ?TO DO YOU THING I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING WITH MY GELS LIKE KEEP THEM IN A FRIDGE.DO YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM?
AM WAITING FOR ANY USEFUL TIP.
THANKS
KAT

Could be that if its that hot the gel is more runny than usual...causeing the gel to run onto the sidewalls and cause lifting.

You could try freeze curing each nail 1 at a time as you have applied the gel...this way that nail will stay put while you work on the others.

Thanks for replying!!!this is how i do it. Its really runny in this wather but i am carefull not to run in the side.i think its not only the sidewalls that lift but the edge too.i will take a photo to show you how they look.
Am really upset about this...never happent before and i dont know how to deal with this.i will not charge this clients of course for this infills

Hi,
I'm not a gel person, but I have heard of gels literally peeling off in hot weather.
Could it be that your bulbs in the UV lamp you are using need changing?

I would keep them cool at all times, ensure no product is running into the side walls, check my bulbs are fine, make sure ABSOLUTELY no sun is coming in that window and maybe change my technique. Do you lock and layer? apply a thin layer cure then the bulk of your gel?

I check my bulbs all OK.I have 2 uv lamps one for each hand.and they said that they have lifts in both hands...
The system that i use need to apply primer - base cure 2min - and then build and cure 2min.I build and cure one by one soo i try to control around gel to cuticles & sidewals before i cure.
The one of them is coming next week i will take a pic to post so you can tell me you're opinion about this.
ITS REALLY HELPFULL TO HEAR FROM EACH ONE OF YOU A TIP ABOUT THIS!!!:)
THANKS

P.S SORRY FOR MY SPELLING

Hi I am in Spain and our temperatures are in the early to mid 30's too. I have noticed how much runnier my gels are compared to winter, but not so much that they are hard to control, but maybe yours are? When you apply try leaving a slightly bigger gap around the edges so if it does flood a little it won't cause a problem and see if that helps.

You say your bulbs are fine, but when did you last change them? A busy tech needs to change them about every six months, and they should be changed every 12 months if not. Just like UV sunbeds, their efficiency is reduced over time and so must be replaced even though you may think they seem okay. I know I had a problem with lifting and it turned out to be the bulbs, all was fine when i changed them

Make sure you do extra prep too. Really dehydrate those nail plates and make sure you remove all non living tissue from the nail plate.

Hope you get it sorted hun as there is nothing worse than something suddenly going wrong when you don't normally have problems.

i know we have the same HOT WATHER (REALLY BAD)but never happen before...i will do that and check my lamps!!!
thanks Sassy Hassy!!!

Hi there,
have you thought about doint acrylic nails instead during this time of the year and switching back to gels during the cooler times of the year:!:

If the weather in Cyprus is anything like what we've got here right now then it'll be 100 times worse unless you're working with air conditioning. I have had mega problems with my mix ratio this week, my first few beads were polymerising on the brush
I worked with a fan on this afternoon and it was a lot better but not ideal.

Just a thought, but do natural nails dry to the extreme in this really hot weather and can act like wood, expand and shrink because they are so dry and come away from the gel as apposed to the gel coming away from the nail? Do they need to oil more and take extra care.

Thanks girls for your help!
I cant work with acrylic I have an allergy and all my clients are gel fanatic...I contact my supplier to report my problem and they gave me some tips: like to dry primer longer or if is not absorve from natural nail I have to buff a bit before gels. The important thing is to dry nails really good.I use air con all the time because is so bad here high temp and huminity cant work without one.
I hope from nowon stop having this problem.

take care
