Hi.
Please reassure me that this is a good lamp for the money and will work well. I posted thread last week asking for lamp advice and must have driven my family mad going on about it. Then last night they proudly presented me with an easter gift. They have purchased an IBD Jet 5000 lamp for me. I cant tell you how touched I was but am worried as know should match system you are using, however I want to try a few gel systms to compare. PLEASE tell me its fine.
Thank you.

It MIGHT be fine but........

The IBD lamp is designed for the IBD gel system. I'm sure you read the Doug Schoon piece on the correct lamp? It may seem like it's curing the gel but the cure may not be thorough. The IBD gel is a very nice gel. I suggest to start with that and stay with it.

How lovely of your family to buy you an Easter presi

I know. It is. Trouble is definitely want to do other systems. Don't want to hurt feelings. It is supposed to be a good lamp and know it was very expensive.
Thanks.

Hi.
Has anyone got this lamp and what do they think it is ok with most nail gel systems. Is it a decent curing time.
Thanks.

Hunni .. you are really just not getting it.

NO ONE CAN TELL YOU what that lamp will work with but the manufacturer's of the gel you are using or are thinking of trying. No technician can tell you as they cannot tell if a gel has been fully cured or not with this light. It isn't something that is visible with the naked eye. Ring the company you buy your gel from.

I have this lamp. I was sent it by my EZFlow distributor as there is a fault with their lamp which I sent back. I assume then that EZFlow are happy for it to be used with their gel. Don't know if this helps?

Thank you so much. That is absolutely fantastic as ez flow is one of the systems I am really interested in.
Thank you so much for your reassurance. I do actually get it but cannot
buy a lamp for each system and my family are so happy to have bought this for me. Once again thank you for bothering. Greatly appreciated.

This is a high quality lamp.. is fantastic with any gel.. i can recomended this lamp. I hope that this will help:biggrin:

It certainly will. Thank you.

I have to disagree... Brisa cannot be 100% fully cured with any lamp other than the Brisa lamp... to make such a sweeping statement isn't that reassuring to newer technicians who are looking for help and advice re UV lamps.

Well this certainly reassures me re- ez flow.:D
Grateful for all your time & help.

Well this is where you are wrong. The Brisa UV Lamp does not use standard Phillips 9 watt bulbs.

Correct me if im wrong, but the UV bulbs used in the Brisa lamp are 3x9w high intensity bulbs. This lamp is manufactured to perfectly cure Brisa gels.

Every gel system has a specific amount of watts needed to cure the individual product! The lamp the lady is talking about will need to find out from different companies whether or not it is of a high enough wattage to cure their gels! Every gel is totally different!

No-one is trying to get at anyone here, and there is no need for being petty about it.. LIL2 is looking advice, and the professionals are giving it! Geeg has been working with nails for over 25years and knows her stuff!

Different strokes for different folks. There are many people that will, despite being gave advice, do their own thing anyway!

It was so lovely of LIL2's family to get her that lamp! I would too be so touched!! BUT we are only giving advice! We wouldn't want her being disappointed with results and coming back saying "well she told me".....

LIL2 - good luck with finding a system that works for you :hug:

It's not so much wattage as the amount of UV that is emitted that is important. Brisa has less photo-initiators in the gel so it needs a higher emission of UV .. hence why it needs high intensity bulbs ... nothing to do with wattage other than the fact that minimum of 3 HI lights is imperative.

Thank you. Appreciated.;)

Thanks Gigi, that's interesting!

Hi Hun

I use a Brisa lamp with my gel, I do use brisa gel but I also use NSI gel and NSI Colour gel. This seems to cure all of them. Each gel that you use has to be cured for the correct time, for example NSI colour gel needs 2 mins each coat. Check with the instructions on what gel you get to see how long it needs curing. I know they say you should keep to the same lamp as gel but many people just buy a one handed lamp and they are normally fine, but IBD are a good make so why not giver their gel a try. Abi:p

Will do. Thanks
