Hi

I am looking for my first uv lamp for gels. I am not trained in them yet but will hopefully book on a course with NSI very soon.

I wondered if you experienced gel nail techs would be able to advise me if this is worth buying?

Im sorry I cant attach a link but its called
36W Curing UV Light Lamp Acrylic Gel Nail Hand Dryer UK

Ive looked at the ones on NSI website and theres one on there for £80 as a special offer. But the one above is much much cheaper!! (am I allowed to put that?)

Theres no info about how long the lamp takes to cure the gel though.

Many Thanks

Thank you

Yes, good advice - sometimes it doesnt always pay to cut corners!!

I've previously used NSI but converted to Calgel recently. The Calgel system requires a 30 second and 3 minute timer. My NSI lamps have a 2 minute timer so I suggest you decide which system before buying a lamp. If you don't use the timer it is awkward to be working on the nails and timing at the same time. Hope this makes sense Diane.XX

Makes perfect sense and a very good point too. I hadnt thought of that.

i recently brought a new lamp over the internet.since ive used this lamp my clients have complained that they feel it burning their nails.would any of you be able to advise me of this.
i prefer using gel i believe you should do it if thats what you prefer.sorry cant advise you on lamps tho

Because I didn't know any better, I bought the lamp recommended for a one day gel course I went on a while ago. It has no timer and comes as part of a kit that I only seem to be able to get in this country from the training establishment I went to. :irked: It is a 'Magnetic,' if anyone uses this system and I wonder how people get on with it if they do?

I am now a little bit more knowledgeable thanks to this site and intend to do the CND brisa convertion in due course when I will have to purchase their lamp. :irked:

I'm older, wiser and poorer for my lack of experience at the time. Buy the lamp designed for the system you intend to use in the long term.

I have PM'd you hun x

Thank you for all your replies - I didnt buy the cheap lamp (from ebay)
