Hi all,
After having a little look online at different UV lamps I'm a bit overwhelmed! could someone tell me how come the price of these lamps varies so much and how do you know the correct wattage? Im just finishing my creative L&P course and Im thinking of learning gel next.

If you are learning with Brisa Gel from CND then you will purchase the CND UV Lamp which is one of the best in the business and of course it will also cure Shellac and other innovative gels from CND.

If you decide to train with another company for your gel then you would need to purchase the UV Lamp for that system.

Wattage has nothing to do with CURING, so forget wattage, and I strongly recommend that you only purchase a UV Lamp when you have decided which system you are going to use. You don't need to be confused .. it is really simple .. ONLY use the UV Lamp that is recommended for your gel system.

There are a million threads here on the site re UV lamps and using the right one for the job. Search and look in the articles section of the site.

Thank you Mizzy and Geeg, just itching to get started but will wait till Monday and call sweet squared about the gel course and take it from there.....just so excited because im loving doing nails so much!

I completely understand your excitement (I've had it for over 25 years and CND do keep things in this industry exciting I can tell you). However it can be expensive to 'jump the gun' and get something that you can't really use .. besides, the new CND UV Lamp (when we get them in shortly) is a very reasonable price when compared to many many lamps and is very high quality and suitable for both hands or feet, has numerous settings for cure and a digital countdown facility plus it tells you when to change your bulbs .... totally cool.
