i've just been given a uv lamp so i have been thinking about using a uv top coat over polish, nail art and acrylics (i dont use gels yet)
so i bought a uv top coat made by esn.
instructions read :
1. apply any polish and wait 1 min
2. apply 1 coat of uv top coat and wait 1 min
3. expose to uv light for 3 mins
well i just used my nail trainer to practice and i did 4 different nails
nail 1, a nail with acrylic overlay and no polish. it worked fine, its dry and a shiney hard surface
nail 2, nail trainers natural nail no product of any kind, same again dry shiney hard surface
nail 3, nail trainer natural nail with base coat and 2 coats of compleatly dry polish(was polishes days ago) this ended up dry but soft surface and when i scratched it with an orangewood stick it went straight through the top coat and polish
nail 4, natural with 1 coat of polish, just as instructions read. it did the same as nail 3.
are uv top coats just not suitable for use over polish??
although this one says it is, i'm confused.
