Ok so I have been renting my table in a small salon for a year now(just me and the owner work there).
We had a review today where she said that the rent would be increasing in January, but when she told me the new rent it works out that my rent will be increasing by 11%. she blamed this on the VAT increase, saying that all her bills will be going up, so my rent would have to go up too. I questioned her as the VAT increase is only 2.5%, but my increase will be 11%. I thought this was a bit unfair, can anyone tell me what the usual annual increase in rent is usually for table/room rental?
Thanks geeks.

i cant say what the usual price increase is but maybe shes taking into account the increase in gas and electricity prices aswell as vat increase

Our costs are going up about 10% a year in terms of energy prices etc. Put your own prices up to match, then you won't be out of pocket.
