Can anyone give me some advice. I have a lady call me today to ask whether sugaring would have less reaction on her skin as she has vitiligo and has found waxing left her red for a couple of days after. I am reluctant to do her as that kind of reaction isn't good. The sugar is heated at a much lower heat to normal wax and doesn't remove as much of the skin as waxing. Has anyone else had a client with vitiligo and had any reactions to any treatments. She is caucasion and middle aged. Thanks.

I have a couple of clients with Vitiligo. Everyone reacts differently, so get her to come in for a patch test. I don't mean a tiny bit, I mean a full strip of wax, then see how she goes.

I would get her bring a letter from her GP. xxx

Thanks Kim. I recommended a test area to her, so she's having that done with an eyebrow tidy. The area she wants doing is her neck, which is likely to be quite sensitive. I may try letting the sugar cool a while on the spatular before applying. Many thanks for your advice (again!) it's always reassuring to know I'm on the right track!!!
