Hi all, Im doing the VTCT qualification at The Carlton Institute (yes i know!!!!) Im determined to get it completed even though they seem to be putting barriers in my way (might just be me being paranoid though). I met one of my boyfriends mates the other week who teaches the application of artificial nails and we were chatting about the qualification - she didnt mention anything about doing a written exam. Ive also spoken to someone else whos done this qualification and they also didnt mention anything.

Im just wondering if anyone out there knows if this written exam is part of the VTCT or if its just something extra the Carlton has added on for their own amusement?
thanks
Kaz

Have you asked anyone at the company about this? That may be a better first port of call to be honest. I can't really imagine why you would think a training company would be 'putting barriers in your way' or adding things 'for their own amusement'. Perhaps it would be easier to advise you if you expanded a little on that.

A written test would be part of your final assessment, i.e. after your portfolio is completed and passed, you would return to your nearest assessment centre for final assessment. This final assessment would consist of a written and practical test that you would have to pass in order to receive your qualification.
