Its a while since I have posted a question but this is a good one. I have just read that wart remover is excellent for removing cuticles. As I refuse to cut them I need another way of getting rid of them. Has anyone else heard of this method? ;)

Never heard that one...I thought wart remover was for removing warts and cuticle remover is for removing cuticles...

Stick to using whats been designed to be used and your safe, no guesswork..its all been done for you.

Cutting is a no go IMO...its like a spot/scab....if you pick it each day it just bleeds and a new scab forms.....but if you just leave it alone and keep it hydrated it will simply fall off when its ready....cutting will just make it grow back thicker...plenty of cuticle oil and leave them alone.

I took on a new client yesterday who had always had her cuticles cut and they were very thick now. I refused to cut them. I just wondered, as things and advice does change, whether there was any other safe way to remove them. So I googled the question and got the 'Howto.....' series with the advice that wart remover would do the job. I thought it was bizarre as well!

I'm not saying it would or it wouldn't work....what i am saying is that instead of guessing use something that is designed for the job in question...its safer that way...:)

SOME wart removers are BHA, similar to the AHA found in cuticle removers, however it would just be plain silly to use wart remover as it's: 1- much more expensive gram for gram and 2- you don't know what concentration of BHA is equivalent to the AHA in cuticle remover. I assume wart remover is stronger than cuticle remover and you could end up with overexposure, or even a burn. Please remember that some wart removers aren't even BHA at all, just caustic substances designed to be applied precisely to the wart only. You wouldn't want that near your cuticles :)
