Hi everyone.

Is anyone familiar with this technique? If so how does it work? Can someone post a tutorial? Thanks

Hi there

Go to YouTube and type in water marbling nail art and quite a few come up.

Hi,

Yup I agree, you can see it done on YouTube, although, it says to have the water luke warm, I found that it didn't work unless the water was cold.

Thanks

I actually discovered it on youtube, but none of them are in english. Are they really using water? A special polish? The solution looks a little thicker than water so I'm confused. Is this something than I can try at home with plaine water and regular polish?

Thanks so much for your response!

Yup tap water, any nail polish (some work better than others, so if some dont work keep trying) and a kebab stick is all you need.

I did my natural nails with this design a couple of weeks ago and it looked really nice.

Give it a go and let us know how it goes

I find cold water tends to dry out the polish faster... better to use warm or room temperature.
Also, 'glittery' polishes don't fair as well. The opaque or opalescent do better.

Ive never heard of this technique before until seeing this thread...I couldnt wait to have a go..so I did one nail this morning and the results are fab...i love it...showed my friend when she came over and she thought so too...im gonna go have another play in a bit! x

I love marbled effects, especially when using deeply contrasting colours...
I love the results of water marbled, but don't care for the mess, so came up with this method of free hand marbling, works for both full surface or a french...
