Stupid I know, but I was moving things around and have spilt loads of warm wax on my floor!!

I got as much as I could off and tried scraping it off but it is stuck fast - even the remover wont shift it!!

Any ideas................please!!

What's the floor covering?

I don't suppose you have any of the Berins Wax Off product? That's really good.

I would just keep at it, little by little, scraping and dousing with equipment cleaner or surgical spirit. Give it a firm rub with a waxing strip. (Bonded or paper.)

Maybe iron over it with some absorbent paper. Newspaper would probably be ok. Don't have the iron too hot though... you don't want to melt the floor.

I have spilt hot wax on a laminate floor and I pretty much chiselled it off then got the final residue off with equipment cleaner. I did think I was going to have to replace the floor, but I managed to get it all off.

Your poor thing

Carpet or Wood floor??? Try Goo remover, that stuff you buy if you want to get sticky lables off things or chewing gum out of clothes.

White vinegars good, or use brown paper and an iron (put a tea towel between) and then lift it off.

I've removed candle wax with an iron and towel from carpet before, if it's wood flooring maybe try warming it up a bit with a hot water bottle, then try removing it.

thanks for your replies!

It is a laminate floor so fairly hard wearing - and luckily its in the corner!! I think I will try all of your methods and let you know which works best!!
Failing that have another rearrange and cover the mess with my trolley!!

Thanks for the advice geeks xx

try soaking it with wax remover, then cover it with a wax strip, either paper or fabric and leave for ages (we leave overnight in salon). The strip seems to help soak the wax up together with the wax remover. Then use a spatula to scrape up the softened wax. Hope this helps.

Oh dear this is our worst nightmare. We all do it! I got mine off of my laminate floor by half boiling the kettle and tipping it on slowly. I then covered it in wax remover and it kind of mixed into a thin goo. Scrape off as much as poss then get the rest by rubbing with the wax remover.
Good luck chick xxx

I spray my laminate floor with Perron Rigot solvent.....I put it into a water sprayer. I leave it for a few minutes and then I use either a spatula or a paint scraper to get it off. Do a bit each day if it's really thick. xx

more good advice - I love this site - thanks to you all!! xx

Hi guys, saw this post while looking for something else but you are making it way too hard for yourselves! Go into Wilkinsons and buy a pack of those steel scrubbers with soap in. They are about 39p for a pack of ten. Add water and scrub a little. Easiest thing ever!!!
(My mum let me in on this little secret, lol)

will have to try that!!

Use a hair dryer to heat it up then it will just wipe up quickly and easily with some sticky stuff remover, its better than any wax remover and cheaper too!
