Hi Guys

Well the time has come to expand a little & im looking for good quality training in waxing & tanning.....for a complete novice.

Not intimate waxing (yet), but may follow....

Have used the search facility but would love to hear from any trainers that may be local to the midlands & any reviews from all you experts.

Many thanks in advance

Maybe they are all at work or enjoying their Monday off lol

I know a Tantrick Spray Tan trainer in Market Harbourgh... she would be very close to you and I think she also offers wax training too.

Laura Burton Nash's Academy; If you would like her number please pm me :)

Hi

Could you maybe do your basic wax training at stephensons college or loughborough college then go on to do your post grad waxing course with kim/andy/any of the berins trainers at a later date?

Waxing in quite in depth i did mine as part of my nvq level 2 beauty 1 year course.

I would steer clear of any one day / short courses ...thats jmho of course though!!

I prefer to know the ALL the in's and outs of what i'm doing rather than short cuts!

Good luck hun xxxx

I'm with you there Amb I want all the ins & outs first and dont think a day course will do that.....

Wasnt sure whether to go the college/academy route first, then convert.....

Although having said that with the nails i jumped straight in with CND and learned more...

Is the case the same with waxing or would college be preferable first???

Thanks for your help & the links Geeks x

Your going to need a bit of a foundation first...there's 2 routes....

  • short course: ellisons or such like (i think there is pinks in derby close to our neck of the woods too)
  • longer more in depth course - college nvq
At the end of the day its up to you really which route, i cant tell you about the content of the short courses because i haven't actually experienced them.

I just know from personal experience i could have done all the modules i learnt on my nvq with ellisons in just one week, thats facials, waxing, mani pedi, lash/brow tinting etc....BUT....i personally felt i'd feel a bit of a fraud having done a week course...so i went for the long hard slog of the nvq at college.

Boy was it hard work but very very rewarding ( i even bagged student of the year! how cool is that) I loved every minute of getting back into the swing of studying, i loved the a&p, i loved all the health and safety aspect, researching and doing all my presentations AND i even enjoyed the exams at the end of it!!

Just my thoughts mate:hug:

Yep sounds like my kinda training ... Thanks Amber x

Hi
There is a training centre in Hinckley that offers both basic and advanced waxing training - really good and very small classes.

Hi, I had my training with tantrick and it was really good. They are apparently doing berins training later in the year (ask Collin). I couldnt wait though as impatient as I am and have got in touch with naildivas.co.uk. I found them through learndirect and they offer lots of different courses. We have them coming to the salon to teach waxing, one-to-one training aswell which you wouldnt get at college. They provide guild recognised qualifications aswell. Have a look at their website. Hope that helps. x

Thx for all of your replies x
