Hi everyone, some advice please  I am new to waxing and today I had to do arms. What is the best position for the client to be in when you are doing arms, so that you can get good stability?

I assume you talking about the forearm and not the under arm?!?
If so I used to do them sitting on a chair with their arms resting on the couch, I would stand the other side of the couch and do the waxing from there. Not sure if there is a right or wrong way of doing it but I personally found this way the easiest! HTH!!:)

I find it easier if the client lays down. xxx

I second this. I put a towel over their tummy/chest and keep their arms out of it. i can rest the arm on their tummy then, and then they can extend it to get all the way round. you can even put their arm above their head if they have dark hairs on the underside of the upper arm.

Yes, forgot to mention that it's so much easier to do the underneath of the upper arm this way.

Also, another advantage to the client laying down is that they tend to close their eyes and that way they can't see the look of dread on your face as arms are THE most boring body part to wax. xxx

LOL, so true. I lay the client down with arms overhead and on the table for the underside and then sit them up for the front. Full hairy arms are my absolute least fav body part. It just seems that no matter how much waxing I do I always see some hair staring at me. Half arms? 90 seconds and we are good to go.

I did a set of full arms yesterday during a full body wax... (geesh I hate arms!) but I put my new technique (Andy taught it me a few weeks ago) to work with the client lying on his back.. chest complete, underarms done... I strip waxed the upper arms then I did a non strip strip down the front and back of the lower arm making two definite sections. I then used the non strip wax and worked strips of bands across the remainder sections. All with the client lying down.

It may have been a little slower but laying down a few strips at a time made it workable. (If I remember correctly it shows this technique on the PR website on their wax vids).

I finished off with strip wax on the hands, fingers and wrists.

There isnt a wrong or a right way hun you will just have to see what feels best for you. I sit my client on the opposite side of the couch. I love waxing arms it's my fav part upart from underarm xxx

Thank you everyone for all your replies. I thought I was just being a bit of a "geek", as the young man in question was just sitting there with arms limp!!! I had almost designed a new implement for the arms in my mind by the time I had finished them, phew! x
