I have been waxing a clients bikini line for approx 3 months now. She comes in every 3 weeks or so, she hates hair!

She had a baby 3 weeks ago and came in yesterday. She had 3 marks which she said were ingrown hairs, had gone into boils and were now oozing green pus. They didnt look too pleasant!

She had been using magnesium sulphate to try and draw the hair out, which hasnt worked.

Do you think her poking about at it has caused it to become infected? Is it infected? Is just having a baby anything to do with it? Hormones etc. Or is it just one if they things that happen.

I have never came across this before and feel paranoid that its something I have done!!

To be honest, she doesnt seem too up nor down about it. She knows all about exfoliating etc as the hair grows

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like she has caused an infection from messing with them,
you are more susceptible to infections after having a baby as you are a bit run down usually,
she needs to go to her GP for some tablets or medicated cream,
she cant blame you hun, don't worry

I use Clear It on ingrown hairs that become spot like, but green pus does sound a bit extreme. Without seeing it, it's hard to judge, but I would probably suggest she cleans them up with antiseptic and goes along to her GP for advice. I have heard of people having to have these lanced so I think she should probably take some sort of action.

If it were my client, I would have probably made sure the hairs were out too. I have a very strong stomach

It's not anyone's fault hers or yours these things happen but she will probably need to take something to clear it up so she must see the GP immediately.

I suffer with ingrowing hairs all the time. If i catch them early enough i can just squeeze them and the hair pops out along with a little bit of pus. I did however have one once where i couldn't reach it and it became very swollen and in the end became infected where i tried to squeeze it and couldn't see what i was doing!! I ended up having surgery to have the pus/hair removed. This thing usually happens if you have curly hair. I find that if i exfoliate vigorously they appear less often. I would say tell her to get to her GP as soon as possible as it is already pusing it means it is an open wound and therefore could become nasty.

It's nobodys fault and i'm sue she doesn't blame anyone.

thanks for your replies, I new it wasnt anyones fault really, just needed some reassurance! XX
