Hi gals

My goddaughter wants to use some form of hair removal as the hair on her legs, arms and her eyebrows are really dark.

What d'you recommend?

Thanks in anticipation

Sophia:confused:

My daughter is a pre-teen and was for a while very paranoid of her under-arm hair and facial hair. Started off just with bleaching her "moustache" but as her pain threshold is quite high she loves having her under-arms, eye-brows and upper lip waxed. Personally i don't see anything wrong with it as i would rather her do that than sneak in the bathroom with a razor and cause all sorts of mayhem! Dd her under arms with depiliatory cream a couple of times which was fine but i preferred her having a wax and once she tried it she loved it! (Doesn't do legs as they are not that hairy so she can leave those till she's a lot older if they don't bother her at the mo.)

Hope this helps a bit and good luck!

how old is your god daughter hun ?
my friends little girl is 8 and has a mental impairment which makes her quite hairy ( and also gets her bullied) after much soul searching i agreed to wax her mono brow and tash for her and that little girls life has changed dramatically ( no more bullying ) i still don't like waxing her as shes so young
but the smile on her face when she's done makes it a little easier
so i guess its down to you really, i know its a hard decision and you'll get many replies both for and against. but only you can decide hun,
good luck and let us know howit goes

Aww thanks for your words of wisdom girls. Victoria is 12 and a half with long dark hair, dark eyebrows, long dark hair on her arms and legs! I've got some sugar wax you heat in the micro that I do her mums brows, lip n chin with so I s'pose I could give that a go, otherwise, warm wax on her legs and arms.

I've just looked up a threading course as I've had quite a few enquiries for it from people locally so maybe if I get qualified I'll do that for her as her skin is so young and sensitive.

Thanks again and best wishes x

I started waxing my daughter at 12. We do her legs, eyebrows and underarms. She has a lot of dark hair and I figured, why bother with shaving. As long as she can handle the discomfort, I say go for it.

My daughter is 11 but for some reason the thought of threading doesn't appeal to her but I have it done myself and think it's fab!
It's better for the skin too as obviously facial skin is far more delicate and thinner than arms or legs.

totally agree with the majority on this one.

if a child is likely to be bullied for having body hair at school, then which would cause more harm? Leaving it or letting them wax it?!

My daughter has a Thyroid condition which from the age of 7 has caused her hair to grow in darker than all her mates.
This wasnt a big issue for her until they started having swimming lessons and after hearing some of the other MOTHERS comment she got very upset so I started waxing her legs and underarms at 10.

She is now 12 and gets her eyebrows waxed, eyelashes tinted and permed a proper little beauty diva:lol:

Who says kids are mean think parents are worse:irked:

Just a warning to check with your insurance company first, as many have a minimum age restriction on certain treatments.
