Hello there, I'm new.

I tried browsing your forums for an answer to my question, but nothing specific.

I get my top lip professionally waxed and have no problems. Occasionally, I do it myself between appointments by using Nads Facial Wand. I never have problems or reactions to this product.

At the moment I'm having some financial trouble, so I haven't been going to my professional waxer to get my top lip done. So, I used the Nads facial wand for a cheap, home job.

The wax I used is quite old, so I heated up the wax in order for in to work as it wasn't sticking to my skin cold (the website for the product said to do this if the wax is cold).

The wax still did not work. So I tried it couple of times, say about 3 times, with about an hour in between each attempt to wax.

I also used "Sapoderm Medical Soap" which is a soap I ordinarily use in the shower, to clean the area before waxing.

By the third wax, some hair came out, but hardly any. And I was left with 2 - 3 "white dots" directly under my nose - the hair didn't even fully come out in this area. It looks like the pigmentation of my skin has been affected.

My lips were also a bit puffy (particularly under my nose). There is also some faint "whiteness" on each of the sides.

The puffiness has gone down somewhat. However, it is now day two after the waxing and the white spots under my nose are still there. The whiteness on each side of my lip is still there too but its hardly visible.

Is there something I should be doing in order to help this clear up? Will it clear up? Is this permanent?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

P.S I didn't and stiil haven't put anything on it afterwards - I've just been rinsing it with water.

In a nutshell, you've used old product incorrectly.

Sounds as though it was 'off' and you shouldn't have been going over it for that long. xxx

Yes, in hindsight, i realise that.

But, any idea if its permanent?

Hi

It's very difficult to say if it's permanent or not without looking at it. Maybe you should pop into your local salon and get an experianced therapist to have a look. They might be able to help you or recommend you see your GP.

Hope all is ok.

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. It's always best to let the professionals see it so they can give you the right advise or prescribe the right thing.

No, it's not permanent but leave it alone now and let it heal. xxx:hug:

Have you taken the natural tanned layers off of your skin.I see you are in Sydney so obviously summer out there. If this is the case unfortunately you will prob be stuck with the discolouration for a little while a bit like when the skin peels and goes patchy after sunburn.

Good advice. Thank you for your time.
