Hi Geeks,
I'm hoping do do a waxing course next month.....I will be working mobile and from home and have been looking at the small heaters with lids that you just pop the pot of wax into.
I'm hoping to order this weekend while Ellison's have their 10% off but could do with any advice you could give me.

The 3 I've looked at are the GIGI kit, the Babyliss Pro kit and the Clean & Easy Kit (although the pot wax heater states brazilian it says that normal wax pots also fit)

Do any of you geeks use any of these......is there a big difference or are they all much the same..........is any of the waxes more superior than the others?

I'm also looking at the Hive hand held roller kit as an addition.

Any feedback/advice much appreciated.

Hi

I had the babylisd pro kit when I started out and it was fine. No problems with it. It gave up the ghost though after 18 months of long and hard service.

I have a feeling that Gigi and Clean & Easy are made by the same manufacturer and are the same size which is actually non-standard, i.e. Clean & Easy tins are slighter wider and shorter than many other brands so I would probably steer you away from these. For instance, if you put a standard tin in the Clean & Easy, you won't be able to close the lid. The other thing with the Clean and Easy is that the lid just flips up, whereas some brands (eg. Hive) have a twist / lock action which secures the lid, which would be safer for mobile.

I had a Babyliss and it was fine, except I found the temperature very hard to regulate, especially for hard wax. Even on the lowest setting the wax could get too hot! There are quite a few old threads on here discussing the Babyliss and from memory I don't think it's too popular. The other thing about the Babyliss is that the lid, again, is not terribly secure.

My recommendation would be 2x Hive. They are very very popular and versatile heaters.

Hope that helps.

I have the Hive Roller system and a salon system wax pot for the pots to go into. The roller system is handy but you will need a pot too. I love my pot as I can also heat my paraffin wax in it allso xxx
