hi guys i am a hair geek that si now branching out to waxing, i am currently training in liverpool,
so i was waxing my mum last night (bless her)
and we did the bikini line!!! scary as i have only done one before!!
my mum is great doesn't even flinch when waxed but when i pulled the strip away it left a angry purple bruise on the crease!!!! i would of died if this wasn't my mum lol!!! she says this is normal and always happens but i'm sure she was just makin me feel better
i must of done something wrong?!? i did pull it tight, maybe too tight??
oh help, i feel awful  poor mummy eh??

Ouch....that made me cross my legs :) Like you said, good job it was your mum as a client wouldn't have been best pleased.

You're not stretching the skin and you're not pulling your strip off correctly. Don't pull it upwards, pull it in line with the body. Try to switch to hot wax if you're using strip wax.

Try again and make sure you ask your tutor for help. Good luck. xxx

Are you sure you were stretching the skin and not just digging your fingers into the skin?
It's an easy mistake to make when you are training so make sure you are actually pulling the skin.
Stretch the skin whilst applying the wax as well as when removing.
Apply a little oil under the wax as this creates a lipid barrier and causes less trauma to the skin.
I only ever use non-strip wax on bikini but i know a lot of therapists get on just fine with strip wax. Make sure you pull the strip back on itself and don't remove too slowly.
Also if it's a long strip remove it in stages rather than in one go and make sure you stretch the skin again before pulling each stage.
HTH :)
