Hi guys

Have anyone got any nail art that is easy to do. I have some examples of nail art in the salon at the min but most of my clients say although they are great, lovely and impressive that they wouldnt wear them them self. Has anyone got any ideas or examples of easy to do, wearable nail art. I personaly feel that although some of my nail art is great it isnt every day designs.

Have you looked in the Geek Gallery, there are loads of ideas there. I have lots of nail art designs on offer but to be honest there is not many clients who ever want any. Most of them ask for a couple of flicks on the free edge but other than that they are not very adventerous at all. x

I would say that over half of our clients wear nail art from simple designs over a french, to full on funky designs.

Most of ours like a simple design over a french, such as a few flicks, a couple of gems, handpainted flower (using striper pens), polka dots on free edge of french, glitter tips and fades.

If we are wearing a particular design then loads of our clients will ask for it too.

Despite having done a course, being an artistic person, having an extensive (and expensive) range of nail art kit...........I have done nail art twice in two years.
Clients occasionally have the odd crystal but don't want to wear nail art at all, though they all love looking a my examples.
I was warned when I started (but didn't listen):green:

I used to do painted nail art but found there was hardly any call for nail art where I live. Now I have a stock of Nailtopia stickers handy instead. Simple designs, clients can see exactly what they are getting as freehand stuff can vary slightly and takes no extra time so I can charge less. I find that when I do nail art people only want a simple flower or something as they usually wear the same art for several weeks so it has to be something they can cope with seeing every day.

Have you tried water decals once sealed with a top coat they last for ages and because they are flat they really wear well.

Do you wear some of your own designs? It's great advertising.

I always wear something. At the beginning of the month, I did a pale pink glitter fade and added pastel 3d candy heart shapes on my left ring finger. This week, I removed the hearts and rebalanced and did 3d pink and yellow daisies with a retro 60s look to them. VERY outrageous, but people take notice and ask HOW and then want a card and lots end up calling and requesting some kind of art. Everyone has wanted custom art, even if it is only a simple glitter tip.

My simple nail art clients love a simple line, going from the tip of the nail to a corner. To make it a bit more interesting, add a little flick, some where on it. How about a little dot flower in the corner of a nail? Or you can add a stripe, with glitter. Even a couple of parallel lines some where on the nail adds a little interest with out being over bearing. Good Luck!
