I am not familiar with using well-less tips and would like some advise please.

I have a client coming tonight who I would like to use poppits on. I don't have well-less tips but was planning to cut the well out. 1st point is, these tips are asian tips and very thin, the well area does not stand out much compared with the body of the tip, colour wise. Would I be able to just place the tip on the very edge without cutting out the well? I plan to use natural tips with perfect pink powder, no white. I ask because I would like to save time as although these tips blend well it does still add on time.

2nd question. To use tips in this manner, as you would well-less, does the client have to have a small amount of free edge. i.e. if the nat nails are very short (no free edge) is this technique not an option? As if I can remember right she didn't have a free edge last time.

Hope I have explained this ok?

Thanks in advance xx:confused:

hi hun, the point of well less tips is that you can place the tip where ever you want on the nail because there isn't a well to butt up against the nail, so it doesn't matter if there is no free edge.
I to haven't got any well less tips so all I did was filed it of first, I always pre blend any way so just did that, oh thats the other thing with well less tips they don't need blending, just apply a thin line of adhesive to the end of the clients nail and a smige to the end of the tip and place the two together, thats how Gigi did it to me and it worked a treat.
Good luck with the client:hug:

Thanks Suzie.

So let me get this right? If I place a well-less tip say about 2 mm's onto a short nail (no free edge), all I would then have to do is remove shine from tip and apply acrylic. Would the line (2mm in) not show through the pink without having to be blended?

Cheers:)

Well the line will be your smile line ....and you don't need 2mm even 1mm will be enough ... I have even put them on edge to edge with no overlap! As you are sinking the tip well under the product you don't even need to blend much.
I'd remove the whole well from the tips you are using and go from there.

Thanks Gigi.

I saw you demo poppits at Glasgow and you did mention butting the tip and nail end to end. Not sure I have the confidence yet to do that but as far a well-less tips go, the penny has finally dropped! Have just read a thread dating back 3 years and all is explained. I feel a lot more confident now to go ahead and use PopIts and well-less tips tonight.

As for the PopIts, I have only done 3 sets but I feel they are just too good to wait any longer before letting clients try them!

By good, I mean the PopIts, not me (lol)! Joking aside though I seem to have cracked the bubble problem with using a larger brush and not patting very much. I have been holding the filled PopIt up to the light to check for bubbles before applying. Even though there usually are some micro bubbles to see, it seems to set ok.:).

I am off to practice on myself again in preparation for tonight!

Thanks All
