Hi all!

So I specialise mainly in blondes, and I’m finding a few of my blondes are wanting to go copper.
I have never done a copper colour before!!
Can someone please give me some colour advice...
I use wella.

I have attached a picture of my clients colour, she is a natural 6 and has been having ashy blonde hair for years and wants to go something like the copper picture

Thanks In advance!

I have recently done two coppers!
I used 6/73 for my clients roots (both a natural level 6) and 8/34 for the mids & ends. One wanted more red/deep tones so I mixed 0/43 into the 8/34 and the other wanted more brighter copper tones so I mixed in 0/33.

Hope this helps

Thankyou for this! Would you recommend doing this colour touch or koleston? And on wet or dry hair? And which developers did you use for both colours?

thankyou! :)

Ah yes, sorry! I used 6% for all and they were Koleston Perfect shades.

Wella have a shade chart app which includes the Koleston Perfect and the Illumina Color shades. Hopefully they'll be adding the Color Touch soon!

if I was to do 8/34 from root to tip (she just wants to be one copper colour all over) would she have root glow? Would I need to add base to the root aswell? and could you tell me why you’d use 6% on the blonde? :)

Fair point, I lifted my clients to the required blonde, but when I used the 4% on one client (forgot that sorry) the copper didn't come through as nicely and had washed out a week later.
The first client I used 6% all round because her hair looked healthy enough to take it after bleaching and it is still copper now, about a month later and still healthy!
I'm not saying you should use 6% :) but I did on one client.
I would have thought that 4% should be enough on your clients hair if she's been blonde a long time.
Definitely add some of the Special Mix in for extra pigment on top of the current ash blonde.

I'm not sure how the root glow would go without using something that matches the root better. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that :)

I would be inclined to use 7/37+ 7/34 I'd use 4% on roots and 3% or pastel on the M.L.E I would also prepig the blonde with gold.

Thanks so much ron :) I will try this!
