Hi Everyone,

I've been following the threads on this site for any research I've needed to do for a long time, and I've not had to join until now - as usually all the queries I have are already on here :)

But I have a question I'd love to get your opinions on if you don't mind :)

I have clients that like to go all over blonde to the scalp. And I think I've made a conservative decision to go over to Wella Blondor as I see a lot of good reports for on the scalp application. But I also see complaints of yellowyness.

As ever with products, the opinions are very mixed!

I read on the Wella recommendations to use the Extra Cool Blonde along with the Blondor Multi Blonde powder, and I wondered if any of you thought that was even worth it?

As I would be using the Welloxon 6% which apparently produces the best results with Blondor, along with a white toner such as T18?

I'd really value your opinions :)

(I also know there's some devout TIGI users on here and I almost went for that... but I need to just make a decision and stick with it for the time being, lol!)

Obviously, it will lighten to a pale yellow, then you tone accordingly.
What are you currently using?

I've used blondor for as long as I can remember, I have tried other bleaches but I always go back to blondor. I haven't tried any of the tone additives. I'm assuming it's a similar concept to Magma, which sounds like it would work well. When you bleach hair, even if you lift to a level 10 it should still resemble blonde/yellow. You shouldn't rely on bleach to achieve "white" white is a tone not a level. Therefore once you've reached a level 10 you would then tone with a violet, or violet pearl to achieve your white tone.

Thanks for your replies :)

I've been using Blond me with good results but some slight sensitivity complaints (nothing major) But I've seen good sensitivity feedback about Blondor so I fancied giving that a go.

And thanks so much for your advice. I think I'll go with it then so as to get the best possible results and I'm looking forward to trying Blondor :)

Realistically, there will always be a few clients with heightened sensitive skin so you’d need to be cautious with whatever lightening product you use and maybe consider using a cream based specialist scalp bleach for those clients?

Just wondering what % developer you were using with Blondme?
You shouldn’t ever use higher than 6% when using an on-scalp powder bleach, with any brand.
If you’re lifting from a low level, you could use 9% on the mids and ends but you’d still only use 6% at the root area.

I used 6% - only ever 6% on the roots like you say :)

I always add Schwartzkopf cool additive to all my bleach mixes. It gives great ashy hi lites and you don’t get that warm glow from the bleach, I swear by it!
