Hello,

My client wants a change up.. last time we added foils throughout as well as a root colour in between (6/71 + 12g 5/0) and toned with
12g 7/97 + 6g 7/86 + 6g 6/71 (roots) and 7g 9/03 + 7g 7/03 (ends)

this time she wants to go more chestnutty, like the image attached, the colour on the ends but all over.. so I’m thinking maybe colour touch 6/73? Obviously I will need a different colour for the roots and the ends though?

Would I need to add highlights throughout again? Or just go in with colour?

However there is a lot of dark colour in there from previous colour.. so would I need to go darker than a 6 so that it blends?

thank you in advance! X

This looks more like 6/75 to me. You could probably get away with putting it all over the M.L.E, maybe go for 5/75 on the root. I would probably prepig too. You need to add copper to the hair first otherwise you'll lose the colour after a few washes.

Okay perfect. I can pre pig with perfecton /43 And then use 5/75 roots and 6/75 mid lengths and ends.. thank you! ☺️

Also forgot to mention most of the lightness in the ends is also extensions.. would you still pre pig? I know colour always tend to develop much quicker on extensions! X

I would either add in a slightly lighter shade or up the developer to 4% and still prepig. Prepig won't make the hair any darker, it'll just mean the hair will reflect the true tone of the desired colour, rather than looking dull.

Thank you so much! Was really excited to try this new colour..

However, my client has now changed her mind and is wanting something along the lines of this (attached) and this is what her hair has faded to.

So I’m thinking of doing something similar to last time.. although I think the root colour needs to be changed. So I’m thinking of still adding foils/babylights throughout and maybe using illumina (but mixing in the ratio of 1:2) as last time we’ve just previously come
Away from Using KP Permanent colour..

So I’m thinking of going in with 2 parts 5/81 + 1 part 7/81 + 4%.. Can I use 4% with illumina to cover grey? Or would I need to up to 6%? I just don’t want to reveal too much undertone as it looks like it’s gone warm this time..

Unless you have any suggestions?

thanks so much again! :)

Yeah 4% will work depending on the % of white?

Those ends are very warm, they need to be lifted more I'd probably tone it with colour touch 9/97 +9/16?

Perfect I will use 5/81 + 7/81 with 4% for the root then.. the grey is mainly at the front as throughout the back there isn’t much at all!
We used colour touch and 4% last time and that seemed to cover okay!

Would you pull the root colour right down onto the warmer mid parts? Or just add more foils?

thank you! Although most of the ends is her weave.. so we won’t be able to get that any lighter really!
