Hi I have a new client booked in for in 2 weeks time, she wants a dark cherry red colour, and was wondering what Wella colours you’d suggest? (I’m mobile)
I deal mostly in blondes and browns, I have booked a consultation to see her a few days before, where I’ve said will do a skin patch test and also a strand test, I don’t know her existing colour history yet, but it looks either highlighted or balyage, this is what she’s sent me of what she wants.
Thanks

For the first photo I'd look at using koleston 55/46
For the second I'd probably steer towards 44/65

Thank you, you are always super helpful 👍🏻

I’d also say 55/46 x

So after the consultation she has about 3” natural roots which are about level 7 with a few scattered greys, not very many at all, she’s also had bleach previously which covered about half her hair length,
So I was thinking I’d need to tone the ends first so it doesn’t go bright red, but what should I use?
I’ve only ever done brown to red, or blonde to brown? Do I still just add warmth? And would you also do the roots so to cover the grey more? It’s a new client so I’m feeling more nervous about this one?
I have some hair that I will be doing a strand test on.

I would pre pig for a level 6. So you could use /43 perfecton if available.
Or a shade in colour touch.
Then go in with your target shade.
You will then have a more even result.
If you feel like the white hairs will be an issue, you can add 5/0 or 5/00 to your colour to reduce root glow

Thanks, so just tone the blonde ends first before the red? I currently have CT 0/34 would that work or just use a standard colour? I have 6/0 in CT already,
I can go to wholesalers tomorrow as client is Tuesday!

/34 would work, but that's more of a level 7. Which is okay because of the natural base.
If you add 6/0 to the root colour, I wouldn't put it on the ends.

Thank you for the advice 👍🏻

Sorry me again!
i pre-toned with /34 and used 55/46 kp and was lovely even result, showed client and she said she liked it but wants more brown added if possible? I can’t find online if we can add normal colours to intense reds?
this is the end result I got with the first test! Would you suggest anything to use?

Your could add 5/00 or 5/0 to it.
Or you could look at using 5/5 or 5/75 depending on how less red she wants it.

Thank you, I wasn’t sure about adding normal colours to the intense reds! I love 5/75, would you do half and half or is that too much? I think she still wants the red very noticeable,

Sorry half and half of which shades?
5/75 + 55/46?
Ot 5/75 + 5/5?

Sorry 5/75 & 55/46?
is that what you meant??

You could do yes, it'll subdue the brightness of the red, but still keep the red tone.

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice, did the colour today on my new client, ended up using half of 55/46 and half of 6/77 (couldn’t get 5/75 in time) and pre-toned blond first, and it was lovely, even and she loved it, haven’t don’t this type of colour in years and on a new client too, so just wanted to say thanks for the advice, definitely helped put my mind at ease today.
