Hiya, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a long lasting bright orange/copper tint?

My favourite shade ever - which I would like to return to and one of my clients would like to try - was discontinued colour Wella Koleston Perfect 88/43.

It was fantastically long lasting for it's brightness because of the pyrazol P5 molecule it used, and I've yet to find anything which comes close. Have had a go with L'oreal majicontrast pure copper but fades really quick on hair which has had any colour on it already, and last time tried Igora Royal 9 1/2 - 777 which was ok but tone only lasted about 2 weeks, gutted!

Any suggestions at all? Thanks! Zell x

What is your base level you are colouring on? 9.5/777 works best on around a base 8. I use it with 3% and it lasts extremely well. Have you tried 7/77 in that range? Using that with 0/77 gives a nice bright copper.

used with 3% on base 8 strawberry blonde roots and slightly faded ends (last coloured wella colour touch 8/34). Colour did come out lovely but the real intensity didn't last longer than a couple of weeks, am tempted to try again as I have another tube and new roots now but only thing that puts me off was it was a fraction too much red/not enough orange...

As you can tell I am somewhat of a fusspot! Might have a look at the 7/77 but quite keen to stay as light as possible. And thanks for answering, nice to know being on a forum works!!!

What about using koleston 8/34 with some 0/43 in it to give it more vibrancy.

Try indola proffession 8.64 its a gorgous bright red copper colour.

thanks chaps, my alternative plan was to do 8/34 plus 0/34 mixtone, so thanks for confirming that for me dolly! Think the indola tones are both just a tad too red for me, cheers for the suggestions though, and I'll keep in touch!

Hi , I know this post is old but the 8/34 is wella koleston and 0/43 is wella colour touch, can you mix perm with semi? or should it be 8/34 + 0/43 to achive 88/43? x

sorry I got my nubers wrong, try again:

Best way to get it is use 88/00 + 0/34 or if you don't need the double base the 8/34 and just boost it with /34

And you can't mix ct and kp!

Thanks Pinky! so 88/0 and 0/34 = 88/43 isnt 88/0 a Koleston colour and 0/34 a colour touch?
I am looking to use koleston as I do want a bit of a lift to get the results like 88/43 from my hair colour medium to dark brown recently died with a mix colour touch 7/43 and 7/47 which made it look a tiny bit darker.

the colour below is by Wella 88/43 which is what I am trying to achive on mine :)

Sorry should have been /43 I was in starbucks :-o

Try 8/34 with either 0/43 or 0/33 (or a mix of both)

try Koleston 88/0 & 7/43 it give a lovely 8/43 celtic copper. Hth x

Awww Starbucks! My favourite! Well hope you enjoyed it :)
How many parts of each colour?
And Should i use 6% or 9% to mix with? If it helps I am about a level 4 coloured hair with a bit of redish, will I come close the the colour the girl has on the pic?
I am worried in case it's too orange or too dark where my colour hasn't lifted enough.
I am also thinking of using colour touch in between koleston to keep the colour vibrant with no fading. So I would start with koleston then when I see some fading touch up with colour touch and when I see roots use koleston. Which colour touch match the result of the koleston mix?
Thanks x

Using the 11 rule 30 8/34 2cm /34 1cm /33 I would use 12% to get max lift other opinion is to bleach shampoo it up q few shades

To refresh maybe use relights don't have that one at home but in sure there is /34 (which should be fine on its own

I can't remember the 11 rule can you explain please, I know it's like if your base is say 7 it's 4cms of mix tone but is that with a full tube of 7 ? And how do you know how vibrant it will be ?

11-base= *cm

So 11-7=4cm of tone

Not sure how bright it will be hut should be close the mix tone might need to be played with just to get the tone right but should be too far off
