Looking for a wella toner for a client with colour build up. She’s a base 6 but has coloured multiple times with permanent and it throws off a lot of warmth. She wants a lighter Balayage but understands it’s going to take time to cut through the colour, without damaging her hair! Does anyone have any recommendations, through experience, on which wella toner to use to get rid of as much yellow/orange as possible?

Many thanks

You need blue for orange and purple for yellow tones, so if it’s orange, them choose something blue based on the correct level.
I wouldn’t use bleach to lighten saturated colour build up.
Use a colour reducer (and charge appropriately). Applying bleach to the same sections of hair won’t help maintain its integrity.

I have never used a colour reducer before. Could you tell me how you would do this?

Thanks
