I was just on Western Union, money transfer site, to get information as that is the form of payment that I was advised to use since the receiver (distributor of poppits) doesn't use Paypal.

Western Union wants $20.00 to transfer $83.89 :!::eek:

HECK NO WAY!!

Is that a normal charge?

There is no way I am paying that amount. It's OBSCENE!

Has anyone dealt with Western Union before?

See, I have a credit card, so I could use that no problem.
BUT a long distance call would likely cost the same as Western Union.
And the company doesn't have a 1-800/toll free number:confused:
And I certainly don't want to send credit card info by e-mail, that's for sure.

ugh
:irked:

Cant you send a cheque Victoria? Or email them to ask if they will phone you to arrange a payment over the phone?
Ive never dealt with WU, but it seems you get nothing for nothing these days!
xx

I've asked them to call 3 times in our emails back and forth to sort it out, and they haven't yet. I told them I would gladly give them credit card info on the phone.
Hoping they will soon.

I also told them that if they wanted to translate the order page for me, and tell me how to do it, I'd do it via their website.

Posting a cheque would take forever and a day to get there (ok, probably only a week), then wait for it to clear the bank.....from US to CDA.

Crossing my fingers that I can get this processed today and get my products in the mail asap.
I have a paypal account, but it seems they don't.

Ah well.
AT LEAST I can order popits now.
It's only a question of sorting payment details this time, that makes everyone happy. Then in future, it'll be solved and it'll be quick to do business.

I remember paying charges when I used WU before, they have a captive market though with people that dont use instant payment services such as Paypal so they get away with it. Are Canadian phone charges so extortionate? Its a very short call to make a payment, hard to believe it would cost $20?

From my experience, Western Union do seem to have hefty transfer charges as well as seem to give you the worst exchange rate ever.

If you can find another way to pay that might be helpful but as always be careful about handing out your card details unless you are happy that they are pretty trust worthy.

Hope you have fun with your product when it arrives.

that Way To Much

hi there

NO WAY SEND MONEY THROUGH THEM. They dont have very good press over here in the uk they have hefty charges and your details can be stolen and card details too there must be another way for you to get some popits.

A lovely geek has offered to translate the page for me, so I can do the order through the company's website. What a DOLL!!
Then I can pay that way.

As for high long distance: it probably would cost me close to that since I don't have a long distance plan of any kind and only the very basic phone (not even call display) so I'm not entitled to any special rates.
In any case, hubby would lop off my head. Hence why all my stock orders are online.

THANKS everyone!!!

Hi VHunter,

I'm a newbie here, I also got a reply today on payment methods to order popits and was told WU was best for USA.:( I can't pay a $20.00 money transfer fee, for a $36.11 payment. So please keep posting if you find away to get them. P.S. I had their web page translated and still couldn't understand the format, such as where to put credit card info...etc.:(

Thanks,
Hope

Have you thought of Paypal? They are not the cheapest but at least its safe can works out as something like 5%. Once you pay with paypal the other person gets a notification straight away so this must be the quickest way to pay.

Other than that its probably only cash in a recorded envelope, cheque or bank transfer?

Victoria says right in her first post that the seller doesn't use Paypal
