Hello Geeks,

Please can someone explain to me what CPD points are as i have seen them on a few courses?

I know they are credit points or something but who keeps a track of them etc and what do they do?

I'm not sure how they relate to the nail/beauty industry, but when I was a legal executive we had to do 12 hours of CPD every year if we wanted to keep our practising certificates. It stands for Continuing Professional Development, and basically this is ongoing training you have to do so that you are up to date with your skills and with the industry.

I imagine this will be very similar in nails and beauty terms.

Thanks, i wonder if you are a member of a professional body they will expect you to do the same?

Michelle, is correct. CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and alot of industries such as the Financial, Insurance and legal world, expect employee's to complete a number of hours per year to keep there knowledge up to date, and help show that they are competent to do the job.

Not sure how the points would relate to this industry, but CPD is a great thing to be doing even if it goes unrecorded. Keeping up to date and knowledgeable keeps you one step ahead I feel.
