I have relocated to a hotel premises and I will be offering nail services, Holistic therapies, and beauty therapy to a unisex client group and would like to ask you all that what colours to go for in the nail room, holistic room, and beauty room.

Hi

I am about to open a nail studio where I live in the middle east, and I need to draw my clients in so my Husband and I thought that we would make the shop lighting really bright and white!!!!

We are painting the shop white, but with a wall in black and white paper and we are having a big chandelier in the middle. Black and white towels, white manicure tables with black chairs. So black and white is our theme.

I have seen so many nail bars over here and they are all sorts of colours. I hope I helped a wee bit xxxxx

Hi,

I went with cream and brown, don't think you can really go wrong with natural stone colours..

I have added little contrasts like red towels.. but stil not girly.

Personally I'm not a fan of white ... its too clinical for me. I used to work in a Health Centre where nothing was white ... not the woodwork or the ceilings.

Earthy neautrals and creams are calming and good.

How much of your clientelle do you expect to be guys? Don't forget to ensure your retail area reflects this, if you are expecting guys you don't want them walking in to be confronted by a huge nail polish display.

Really consider your retail display area, personally I think a shelving looks a lot more inviting then display units ... not a fan of the Dermalogica one for example. Guys are a funny bunch ... they don't want to ask questions so don't have all the products in cabinets, let them pick them up and look at them. Also think of the gifts market - a nice display of gifts for the lady in their life, or for the ladies to suggest to the man in theirs.

If you are expecting guys then look at adding a treatment such as Cut Throat Shaving with a suitable product range. And don't do what a local salon to me has done, invest in a really good shave company and range of products and then put them on the bottom shelf 6 inches of the floor! Quite frankly no product should be that low, remember if its eye level its buy level.

For the layout / decor of the holistic / beauty room think about dressing it. If you have some ladies who lunch clients you may dress it differently then for a guy for a sports massage. The paint colours are fixed, by dressing think how you lay the towels, display products to be used etc, put a decoration on the table for when they enter. This tailoring of the experience is one of those little touches that don't cost anything, but can really make the difference ... change a treatment into an experience.

Good luck!

neutral, muted colours.

If you want a more original design of your place I think, you should follow your intiution however my suggestions only follows what you think is best for your unisex salon.

If you are looking for style and up to date most probably in a techno-modern sense, I suggest you make do with black and red theme, this color theme is kind of dull but with the right items and lightings of course with technologically advanced items in, you would go with the first class salons. These colors can be applied to both sexes.

However if you wish for natural looking go for fleshy beige mixed with carnesia brown, there should be a distinct fashion outlay combining these two, both of them would ctreate that simple, clean yet highly artistic feel you're wanting.

If you feel a little bit off the hook, go for light magenta and lavender they're fine as long as lavander dominates light magenta.

Just my personal opinions BTW. Love to help

Thats sounds really nice

I like that it sounds really good. Tahnkyou.

Very natural and feels relaxing

This sounds really nice

a good tip for a modern look is to allow a local artist to display their work in your salon. Contact art colleges in your area etc and see if any one contempary would be interested? You could also take a small commsion on any sold aswell as your salon looking fab and unique :D
