I have just watched a clip on u-tube that shows acrylic being laid underneath the tip rather than on top of it...ive never heard of that before....does anyone here use that method...what are your veiws on it? It looked quite good and there wasnt much filing involved x

Can you add a link to the clip please?

I think you are looking at inverted nail art

I know the one, there was a thread on here recently showing this clip. Is it entitled "things your nail tech doesnt want you to know" or something like that? Do a search on here the thread provoked some passionate reactions!!

i dont know how to put links on but if you go on and type in ikendonails it should come up?

i thought that looked really good but surely u could do that by layin the acrylic on the top and blending the colour now! and also this must take ages gettin correct tip sides then puttin acrylic on them then on the nail? sounds bit much but good effect! x

This technique SCREAMS overexposure! Uncured product touching the skin as it gets placed on the nail UGHHHHHHHHH.

Not a fan.

I think learning the more traditional ways of enhancements best for beginners.

in the video clip it looked like they put loads of layers of l&p.wouldnt the enhancement end up being really thick?
the end the result does look good but i think it makes more sense the way we do it,maybe thats just because i dont understand there way i dont know.
interesting though

Yep thats the one that was on here a while back - I'll tell you what I think of it - its over exposure at its best - I doubt they'd even last a day or two!!

Laughable really!! :lol::lol:

does anyone know how long they are suppose to last....just curious....totally agree with fificharlie.....over exposer and they look as though they can just snap off the nail ....they must lift ???? xxx

And what about the refill  ?

If you check the previous links on the site they state that the infill is done the same way as usual.
All I can say is we should get some geeks opinions who have actually TRIED this type of method to comment on it so we can get a true opinion before we knock it.:wink2:

to me, the video looks too 'farfy' (a technical term). However as long as no product is coming into contact with the skin, there isnt a risk of overexposure. The real risk is techs working too wet which will contribute to excessive shrinkage and pocket lifting.

Saying that... there is something akin to the above that is pretty freaking impressive and in the pipe-line :)

....wouldnt have anything to do with Geeg's demo week would it....:)????

lol, are we on to something?????? :green:

Ill stick the tail out... :D

Gigi is coming home to let the rest of the cat out of the bag and can I say...

I was about as sceptical as could be about what she will be showing, however I am a complete convert. The best way to put it is: Impressed is an understatement (and for me, that is saying a lot!).
